Chapter 89: A New Scandal
Knowing that he and his little sweetheart had been photographed, Zhou Jingchen was not surprised.
He made no attempt to disguise himself, and quite a few people recognized him along the way, so being photographed was to be expected.
What did catch him off guard, however, was that the ones taking their pictures weren’t just random bystanders, but the Big Eyes Studio, which had only had its account suspended the night before.
Then it occurred to him that the country hadn’t yet entered the era of all-encompassing entertainment news; gossip existed, but ordinary people were still just spectators, not participants.
Most of the headlines still came from paparazzi reports.
Rubbing his forehead, Zhou Jingchen decided there was no need to try to suppress rumors about himself and his little sweetheart. All that was needed was to blur her face.
Compared to his fury the previous night, Zhou Jingchen’s leniency now left Yunbo’s management rather speechless.
It seemed that, aside from this Miss Yu, none of Mr. Zhou’s rumored relationships amounted to anything.
Even if the girl was underage, Mr. Zhou seemed to have set his sights on this fresh, tender cabbage.
Imagining another pig rooting for a cabbage not yet grown, the staff all shuddered in unison.
Pervert!
Still, in their positions, following the boss’s orders was a must, no matter how much they disdained such behavior.
...
Yu Qian never expected that just a simple set visit would lead to her being photographed, or that after a night’s sleep, rumors would be swirling about her and Zhou Jingchen.
Big Eyes Studio: “Yunbo’s CEO, go ahead and suspend my account again! I dare you to keep denying it! Surely this girl has something to do with you? [photo][photo][photo][photo][photo][photo]”
Big Eyes Studio’s new account didn’t have many followers, and the post they made at midnight only blew up the next morning.
The reason? One of Zhou Jingchen’s biggest fans had shared it.
Ink Spills into a Book reposted: “@Zhou Jingchen v Boss, is this the girl in your photo? Any chance we could get a front view? /picks nose” / Big Eyes Studio: “Yunbo’s CEO, go ahead and suspend my account again! I dare you to keep denying it!...”
And Zhou Jingchen responded as well.
Zhou Jingchen v reposted: “Yes! No, you can’t!” / Ink Spills into a Book: “...” / Big Eyes Studio: “...”
The comment section under Zhou Jingchen’s Yunbo account was in complete chaos.
Girlfriend fans clamored to dig up information on the woman, mom fans weren’t happy about their “child” dating too early, and the rational fans were much calmer, merely curious, not jealous.
After all, Zhou Jingchen was so outstanding—whoever he dated, it was never going to be one of them.
And besides, Zhou Jingchen was an adult; having a relationship was perfectly normal. If he didn’t date anyone for too long, people would start suspecting he was gay.
Ling Cheng: “I can’t accept this! If he’s in a relationship, I’m unfollowing!”
Illusive Ink Like Smoke: “Can’t accept it +1! I worked so hard to support him, saved up to see his movies ten times, not to watch him flaunt his love life!”
Falling Sky: “Can’t accept it +10086! The money I spent on you wasn’t for you to spoil some little tramp!”
Night Rain Listening to the Wind: “Hah? You’re the real little tramps here! Zhou Jingchen has way more money than you do, he doesn’t need your cash to support his girlfriend! And who are you to object, anyway?”
North Mo: “She’s still in high school! Isn’t this setting a bad example for kids?”
Earthly Curtain Guest: “He’s an adult, wealthy, with great grades too, and even his family doesn’t object to him dating—why should strangers like you interfere?”
Nation’s Young Master: “Oh? Is this the sweetheart you even transferred schools to stay with?”
...
That last comment quickly shot to the top, with thread after thread filled with people begging for more gossip.
Unfortunately, the young master vanished after commenting, off to dig up more rumors from Zhou Jingchen himself.
Zhou Jingchen wasn’t hiding anything from these young masters.
He knew exactly how much these heirs enjoyed mingling with girls in the circle, and someone as pure as Yu Qian was just their type.
Letting them know Yu Qian was his not only helped her build more connections, but also offered her greater protection in the industry.
“Yes, she’s the one I like. She’s the one my heart belongs to.”
Satisfied with the clear answer, the young master hung up the phone, content.
