Chapter Sixty-Eight: Nuwa Stirs Up Trouble

To establish her own guild, she needed to reach level 40, but Yu Qian was only at level 11. Searching her memories for ways to quickly gain experience, she realized that no one was selling blood books now, so she couldn't use them to boost her progress. The experience-boosting pills in the store, both the large and small Spirit Elixirs, required level 50 and level 30 to use, respectively.

For now, the only option was to level up through quests until she reached level 20, then gather a group to tackle the Leifeng Tower.

She opened her level-up pack and consumed the double experience pill it contained, then began working through the main storyline, urging the others as she went, “Take a double experience pill and do your quests. When we reach level 20, we’ll head to the tower.”

Chu Yueyue was anxious; she hadn’t even left Pu Family Village and was already falling behind the others. “Where do I get the double experience?” she asked.

Yu Qian paused, remembering this was Yueyue’s first time playing, and she was unfamiliar with many things. She patted Zhou Jingchen, “Go sit over there,” then beckoned Yueyue, “Come sit next to me, I’ll show you.”

Once the two obediently switched seats, Yu Qian guided her through the tasks at hand, directing the little healer towards the next NPC. “Yueyue, you need to finish the beginner quests first, reach level 10, then head to the main city of Jinling. After that, open your level-up pack; there’s a double experience pill inside, along with basic health and mana potions for starters.”

“What’s this tower run you mentioned?” Yueyue asked as she exited Pu Family Village.

“Leifeng Tower is an early-game dungeon for quick leveling in Hangzhou main city. You have to be level 20 to enter.” Yu Qian opened the world map, explaining the game’s layout, “There are four main cities in this game: Jinling, Hangzhou, BJ, and Agra. Besides those, there are smaller maps you can explore later. At level 17, you’ll return to your sect to buy skill books and upgrade your abilities. There are a few NPCs in your sect that offer quests; you can pick them all up at once before heading out to fight monsters.”

“But didn’t you say we need to reach level 20 for the tower? Why are we doing sect quests now?”

“It doesn’t matter—those small quests will get you to level 20 quickly, then we can go to the tower.”

“Oh… alright.” Chu Yueyue replied meekly, “Qianqian, have you played this game before? You seem so familiar with it.”

Yu Qian froze for a moment. She couldn’t exactly say she’d played it in a past life. Glancing at Zhou Jingchen across from her, she replied, “The owner of the game company is right here—how could I not be familiar?”

She tilted her chin towards the boy engrossed in leveling up.

Chu Yueyue was stunned—was it really that impressive?

The handsome youth smiled softly, glancing helplessly at the girl. “I’m already level 20, waiting for you to join the party for the tower.”

“How did you level up so fast?” Yu Qian exclaimed.

“You were bantering and wasting time while I finished my quests. Hurry up and join the party—I’ll help you fight monsters.”

He stayed with her through the sect quests until she reached level 20, then dragged her off to Leifeng Tower.

By then, Wenxiu had reached level 20 as well and joined the party.

With one Charmer, one Healer, and one Summoner, all three had low levels and cultivation, so they had to rely on potions and manually grind monsters. Once Chu Yueyue joined, they added Fuxi and Nuwa to the party, bringing three DPS and three support, which sped up their monster grinding considerably.

Seeing the names of the two new party members, Zhou Jingchen paused—the couple’s in-game names were quite amusing.

Though curious, he didn’t ask.

Yu Qian privately messaged Nuwa, “Your Majesty, Yunshen is Zhou Jingchen. He doesn’t know about your existence, so don’t slip up.”

Once Nuwa learned about Zhou Jingchen, she secretly plotted to stir things up. She couldn’t act in real life, but surely she could in the game?

She messaged Wenxiu, asking her to top up her account. Nuwa browsed the shop, buying health potions, status boosters, and a low-level set of gear. Then she went hunting monsters to get familiar with her skills.

As soon as Nuwa hit level 45, she immediately declared war on Yunshen.
