On the twenty-ninth day of the twelfth lunar month, the family returned to their hometown.

At eight o'clock in the evening, after finishing her daily video call with Zhou Jingchen, Yu Qian walked over to the sofa in the living room and sat down.

On the night of the twenty-ninth, the major satellite television stations begin their fierce battle for ratings. Since the eve of the Lunar New Year is reserved for the CCTV gala, all other satellite channels schedule their own Spring Festival galas for the twenty-ninth.

After flipping through several channels, Yu Qian noticed that quite a few people were wearing gowns from her own fashion house.

"Mom, are there really this many people who borrowed gowns from us?"

"Borrowed what?" Yu Cunyi, unfamiliar with the industry, only understood that someone had borrowed something from them.

"The stars on TV. Some of them are wearing clothes produced by our company. They borrowed them from the company and have to return them later—they really have to return them!" Yu Qian emphasized the need for return. She understood her father’s mindset; borrowing things was a small matter, but he feared they would never be returned.

"Oh, I see." Knowing it was official business and that the items would be returned, Yu Cunyi decided not to pry further. He wiped his glasses and focused on the television.

He was getting old; it was better not to meddle in things he didn't understand.

Li Lingling’s eyesight had been failing, making everything look blurry. However, over the past few years, Yu Qian had frequently brought back various supplements for the elderly couple to take, and over time, her vision had actually improved! Like her husband, she put on her glasses and leaned closer to the screen to watch the show.

She was quite pleased.

Wen Yu pulled out her phone and brought up the list of those who had borrowed gowns to show Yu Qian.

Counting them up, there were over twenty people—men and women, young and old.

"We’ve hit the jackpot. I expect the company will receive quite a few orders once work resumes after the New Year," Wen Xiu remarked as she leaned over to look.

Yu Wen suddenly remembered that his daughter had mentioned wanting to enter the entertainment industry. "Didn't you say you wanted to be a star?"

"I auditioned for two movies. One was a bad fit for my age, and the other for my height." She shrugged, showing no real regret.

"Age? Height?" Wen Yu was a bit confused. She had only ever heard of people being rejected for poor acting, never for their age or height.

"The first role was for someone in their twenties, and it included intimate scenes. At first, the director thought I was an adult because of my height, but he was stunned when he found out my actual age. The second role was for a young girl of twelve or thirteen, with a set height of around 1.4 meters. I’m just too tall."

"So, what do you plan to do?"

"Director Lin said that since I’m still growing, it will be hard for me to find male co-stars later, so she suggested I look for a different career path. But I’m not good at singing, so I’m at a loss too," Wen Xiu answered for her.

"Modeling," Yu Wen suddenly suggested.

The three women in the family turned to stare at him.

"If you become a model, you don't have to worry about being too tall." In truth, Yu Wen didn't quite understand how his daughter had grown so tall when his wife was under 1.6 meters and he was only 1.7 meters himself. But being tall was a good thing; it was better than being short.

Yu Qian lowered her eyes and thought about it. If she continued growing at her current rate, it seemed this was indeed the only path. Yet, in her previous life, she had seen the hardships faced by national models. Did she really want to walk this path?

But then, she reconsidered: if she had the potential, why not pursue it? Even if she failed, she still had her parents and Xiu behind her.

And, there was Zhou Jingchen.

There was nothing to fear.

"Then I’ll have to keep growing taller. I’m still not even 1.7 meters yet."

Her words implied that she was willing to try modeling.

Wen Xiu understood immediately.

"Don't worry, you’re only thirteen. You’re still young, you’ll grow." Wen Xiu wasn't concerned; after all, growing taller wasn't difficult. She could talk to the experts later—there were plenty of ways to handle that. "But your training needs to start now. If you're going to walk the runway, you have to ensure your gait and stage presence are perfect. At the same time, you need to work out. A model can't have loose flesh; otherwise, it’ll look terrible when it jiggles on the runway."

Although she hadn't yet worked with modeling resources, she knew exactly what a model needed.

It was time to start hiring teachers.
