Chapter 103: Zhou Jingchen Is Back
After watching Lord Erlang finally find his match, and after asking all the masters for help with the design drawings, Yu Qian cheerfully returned to the real world.
Wen Yu had gone to the company early in the morning, so breakfast was just Yu Qian and Auntie. After eating, she had to head to school as well.
The National Day holiday was over, and school was starting again today.
Yu Qian felt she had hardly had enough fun before it was time for class, and that made her a little downhearted.
Only the best students could get into the province’s Number One High School, and if she wanted to keep up the excellent momentum she had shown at the start, Yu Qian could only work even harder.
When she got to the classroom, she found that more than half the class had already arrived and were all diligently memorizing texts and working on problems.
After sitting down at her seat, Yu Qian took out her papers as well.
She had a good memory, so liberal arts subjects were not much of a problem. But after moving on to the next stage of school, her weakness in science remained severe. Compared with the balanced studies of her elementary school years, she now spent far more time on science.
The paper she was working on was a newly purchased collection of past high school entrance exam science questions.
Yu Qian worked so intently that she did not even hear the bell for morning self-study. Only after finishing the questions and glancing at her watch did she realize that morning self-study was nearly over.
With the answer key in hand, Yu Qian began checking her work. She ticked off the ones she got right, compared the wrong ones against the answers, and if she understood why she had made a mistake, she read it several more times. If she still could not understand it, she marked the key points and planned to ask a teacher when she had time.
After checking everything, Yu Qian felt a little worried. There were still far too many wrong answers, and most of them were on the longer problems.
She was not familiar enough with the formulas, she was not careful enough, and her logic was a mess.
Without anyone pointing it out, Yu Qian could find a whole pile of shortcomings in herself.
Thinking that she would still have to ask for leave and miss classes once she entered the entertainment industry in the future, she grew even more convinced that she had to speed up.
It seemed that from now on, she would have to study even in Little Grotto Heaven. She could not waste any more time.
On weekends, she accompanied her parents, and occasionally chatted with Zhou Jingchen. The rest of the time, Yu Qian devoted herself entirely to her studies, leaving the game completely to the power-levelers.
No one could stay in a game all the time. In order to keep the guild experts from falling behind, Wen Yu set up a power-leveling studio.
Whenever the people in the group were absent or too busy, the studio would log in for them to handle quests and fight in league battles. When the group did not need them to use their accounts, they could take other jobs, or play on their own accounts.
Wen Yu paid them well and did not mind whether they took side jobs. The people in the studio were fiercely loyal to him. Whenever they had anything on their own accounts that the bosses needed, they would sell it to the bosses at a bargain price.
After Yu Qian decided to study seriously, both her account and Zhou Jingchen’s were handed over to the power-levelers. Aside from daily and weekly tasks and league battles, there was nothing else they needed to do.
The result was that the levels of both accounts kept pace with the main group, but their gear did not.
What was more, because everyone in the guild was restless and loved to fight, whenever the enemy guilds cursed at them, they always dragged the two of them into it.
The noob guild leader and the noob vice leader, both of whom could be cut down with a single blow, had become famous throughout the entire server. Everyone playing on that server knew that in the Cloud Song district, the leader and vice leader of the top-tier guild were useless, the kind who could only mine during league battles.
At the beginning of December, after finishing filming and coming back, Zhou Jingchen took back control of his account and Yu Qian’s. Seeing the situation, he was somewhat helpless.
After discussing it with the guild members, they agreed that Yu Qian’s account would be handled by her when she was on vacation. After all, Zhou Jingchen did not know how to build a healer, and the others were still only feeling their way forward, not yet knowing how to do it.
When he learned that over these past few months the guild members had done nothing but equip themselves and fight, and did not even know the daily quests or weekly quests, Zhou Jingchen was utterly speechless.
So this was a combat guild?
Rubbing his forehead, he found that none of these people listened to him, and there was no way he could lead them through the quests.
It seemed that as for any style of play other than fighting, they would have to wait until Yu Qian came back.
Seeing his headache, Wen Xiu gleefully patted him on the shoulder. “Young man, do your best. Since you’re back, I’m leaving the guild to you.”
