Chapter Ninety-Five: Furious Demand—I Want Them
Seeing that Tang Jie had brought quite a few strong fighters, he began to put on a show. But in truth, Tang Jie's intentions were as obvious as day—the ulterior motive was clear from the start. Lin Yi immediately realized that Tang Jie’s constant provocation was all about securing control and the right to station at the Dove’s Nest.
“Heh… Tang Jie, since you know that among the people I brought, no one besides me possesses the power of an A-level expert, how about we settle this with a little contest?” Lin Yi proposed.
“Fine, a contest it is. But if you lose, you must hand over the right to station and manage the Dove’s Nest immediately. And don’t give me that look—you know exactly why I want those rights. Otherwise, in a few hours, your side will be forced to hand over the management anyway,” Tang Jie shot back, revealing his true aims plainly.
“Honestly, you’d be better off just leaving to save face since you’ll lose control in the end anyway,” Tang Jie pressed on, confident that Bai Ke was no match for him.
What puzzled Tang Jie a bit was that Bai Ke didn’t seem as angry as expected. His words were full of insult, and normally Bai Ke and his staff would be seething and furious, but they appeared strangely calm. The truth was, Bai Ke and his team were indeed frustrated—but their anger was directed at having to surrender control of this place to the Lingyi Bureau of Tianhe City in a few hours. As for Tang Jie’s provocations, with Lin Yi present, they weren’t worried at all.
Before Bai Ke could respond, Lin Yi stepped forward with a smile, his gaze locked on the two women behind Tang Jie, secretly trying to discern which one was the seductive corpse enchantress.
Lin Yi’s sly glances at the two beauties had already irritated Tang Jie and his men. Now, as Lin Yi strode boldly forward, his stare grew even more blatant, causing Tang Jie’s brows to furrow deeply.
One of the sturdier middle-aged men behind Tang Jie suddenly shouted, “You brat, if you keep looking, I’ll gouge your eyes out!”
But this threat had no effect. The man had expected Lin Yi to be intimidated, but instead, the young man’s eyes continued to dart slyly between the two women behind him.
Unable to bear it, Tang Jie and his group scowled darkly. Were the people from the Shenyang branch of the Lingyi Investigation Bureau trying to provoke them?
The atmosphere was thick with tension.
Ignoring the threats, Lin Yi stepped past Tang Jie and the two men, stopping right in front of the two women.
Everyone was stunned, including Bai Ke and his team, who couldn’t comprehend Lin Yi’s intentions.
From a distance, some onlookers chuckled quietly.
“Desire and appetite, after all. The junior staff of the Shenyang Lingyi Investigation Bureau sure is bold—daring to flirt openly in broad daylight, especially with Tang Jie, the Heavenly Blade, right here. This little enchantress Li Xianzi must be really captivating. Tsk tsk, she’s stunning…”
“That’s the famous little enchantress Li Xianzi of the Tianhe City Lingyi Bureau. Su, your intel is impressive. No wonder you wanted to see her, even though there were two beauties. Seems her charm magic is truly strong. My mental defenses must be too weak—I’ve fallen for it without realizing.”
“You don’t know the half of it. It’s not your mental strength—it’s her natural charm magic. Otherwise, how could she earn the nickname ‘Little Enchantress’? Even ordinary masters can’t resist her allure!”
The crowd’s murmurs all pointed toward the woman who looked slightly less beautiful than the other. Though her looks were somewhat inferior, her natural grace and charm enhanced her overall beauty.
Lin Yi had initially planned to confirm which one was the enchantress through tests, but hearing the crowd’s consensus saved him the trouble. The woman with slightly lesser looks was undoubtedly the prime suspect.
Being called the “Little Enchantress” spoke volumes about the strength of her seductive magic, which was exactly what the corpse enchantress would excel at.
Suddenly, before Lin Yi could speak, Tang Jie swiftly moved beside him, narrowing his eyes and coldly demanding, “What are you doing, brat? Are you looking for death? Didn’t my brother warn you? One more look and your eyeballs will be gouged out.”
Lin Yi shook his head, replying, “Everyone appreciates beauty. I’m just having a look. The ladies haven’t said a word, so why are you fussing? Besides, didn’t you say you wanted a challenge? Here’s your chance—I challenge you!”
“If you win, you get the management rights to the Dove’s Nest. But if you lose, I want those two beauties, and the management rights will be extended for another five hours to let Bai Ke and my brothers enter the Dove’s Nest. Do you dare to bet?”
Lin Yi’s demands were bold—he wanted both the management rights and the two women, and also the access for Bai Ke’s group. Tang Jie’s face darkened, and he sneered coldly, “Impossible.”
The anger on Tang Jie’s face was unmistakable. Behind him, two other Tianhe City Lingyi Bureau officers glared fiercely, ready to fight. Lin Yi’s demands were shameless to the extreme.
Lin Yi hesitated, realizing his demands might be excessive, then softened his tone. “Maybe you misunderstood me… Let me ask again: besides you, is anyone else from the Tianhe City Lingyi Bureau coming?”
“No… no one else is coming for now. What exactly do you want?” Tang Jie’s patience was clearly wearing thin.
Lin Yi nodded, smiling brightly. “Good. Since no one else is coming, I’ll record this on video as evidence.” He pulled out his phone, switched on the camera, and continued theatrically, “Tang Jie, officer of the Tianhe City Lingyi Bureau, I officially ask: if I defeat you in battle, do I get to enter this Dove’s Nest?”
Gritting his teeth, Tang Jie nodded.
Lin Yi pressed on, “And if I win, can Bai Ke and the others enter with me?”
Tang Jie and his comrades laughed. The middle-aged man who had threatened Lin Yi earlier said, “Fine, I’ll agree for Tang Jie. If you beat us, Bai Ke and the others can come in.”
Clearly, none of them believed the young man could defeat the Heavenly Blade Tang Jie.
Lin Yi nodded and smiled. His smile puzzled Tang Jie and the others, making them think he was foolish.
But they overlooked one fact—they didn’t see Bai Ke and the others’ expressions. If they had, they would have noticed the strange smiles on their faces, devoid of confusion or shock.
Lin Yi continued filming. “Alright, I asked three questions earlier. You agreed to two—the management rights and letting Bai Ke’s group in. You refused the last one: the two women. That’s fine; I won’t force that. But I’ve made up my mind about them.”
At these words, Tang Jie and his men erupted in fury.
Tang Jie shouted, “You’ve got some nerve!”
One of the others growled, “You little brat, you’re begging for death!”
The last man, brimming with hostility, was about to attack Lin Yi directly, but Bai Ke stepped in to stop him, preventing a surprise assault.
Lin Yi’s words left the “Little Enchantress” Li Xianzi and her companion furious.
The woman spoke first, “Who do you think you are, wanting us? Look at your age—you’re utterly arrogant!”
“I don’t want to talk to you. I only want to have a good fight with Heavenly Blade Tang Jie,” Lin Yi said, turning to approach Tang Jie.
They were only six steps apart when Lin Yi suddenly charged, his breath trembling as he raised his fist.
Tang Jie had already moved as Lin Yi approached. Although Lin Yi hadn’t activated his ultimate technique, his speed was still formidable, and his massive fist was empowered by his secret technique, making its speed lightning-fast.
In the blink of an eye, Lin Yi’s fist was about to strike Tang Jie’s forehead.
As expected, the Heavenly Blade’s hands moved like blades, but all his strikes missed!
Lin Yi had captured everything on video—what else was there to fear?
He was determined to claim the enchantress.
And in helping Bai Ke and his brothers, asserting the dominance of the Shenyang branch of the Lingyi Investigation Bureau over the Tianhe City branch, Lin Yi was more than willing.
