The two men's frenzied actions gradually robbed An Shu of her reason as well.

With a ripping sound, a piece of clothing fell away, and she too moved toward the pair entwined together. Yet thin traces of blood trickled from the corner of An Shu's mouth.

Watching the three of them, utterly out of control in midair, Yu Mu felt a surge of satisfaction in his chest. But when he saw the stubborn will with which An Shu continued to struggle, compassion suddenly stirred within him.

He flung out the Ever-Changing Hemp Rope and bound An Shu tight. Then he extended his middle finger. A crystalline droplet appeared at its tip. With a light flick, he sent it shooting into An Shu's forehead.

When the droplet returned to Yu Mu's hand, An Shu had regained her clarity of mind.

Once her reason returned, she saw Ye Yun and the other man engaged in their sordid act. Recalling what she herself had just endured, she was instantly overcome with shame and fury.

She hated Yu Mu's actions with all her heart. Suddenly, she let out a piercing shriek in his direction.

The scream was charged with immense sound waves and a spiritual assault. Amid that terrible cry, Yu Mu discovered that An Shu's cultivation had suddenly risen by an entire level.

The unexpected sonic attack left Yu Mu dazed and insensible. Then the hallucinations that followed caused him to gradually lose himself.

“Don't!” he cried inwardly again and again. He was still in the air; losing control now meant that he would truly be smashed to death.

Worse still, after screaming, An Shu rolled her eyes back. Whether from humiliation or the influence of the lust poison, she actually fainted.

The instant An Shu lost consciousness, she also lost control of her magical artifact. She plunged headfirst downward, dragging Yu Mu with her, for he was still clutching the hemp rope in his hand.

In his groggy state, Yu Mu desperately gathered what little awareness he could and tried to force open his bamboo hat. Unfortunately, this was the first time An Shu had unleashed her full power against him. How could he easily break free of the spiritual damage it had caused?

Only now did he realize how terrifying this girl truly was.

Could he really be destined to die beside such a breathtaking beauty in this life? Come to think of it, that would not be so bad. It was certainly better than dying beside the bloated, brainless fat man from his previous life.

“There’s water!” A smile appeared at the corner of Yu Mu's mouth.

And so, amid the roar of rushing water, he too peacefully lost consciousness.

“Ow— that hurts! Who’s hitting me?” The moment Yu Mu awoke, a monstrous wave came crashing toward him.

Boom!

The great wave struck him head-on, driving him beneath the surface just as he regained consciousness.

How could river water raise such enormous waves? Bewildered, Yu Mu struggled back to the surface.

“It’s you...” He had not even finished speaking when another huge wave crashed down, sending him under once more.

When he surfaced again, the first thing he shouted was, “Wait—hold on!”

An Shu, bound as tightly as a dumpling, glared furiously at Yu Mu, but halted the surging waves.

Looking at the enormous wave suspended above his head, Yu Mu could not help thinking, What terrifying control over water.

At last, he understood which element An Shu cultivated. No wonder she was always fond of playing in the waters of Heaven Lake.

“Say what you have to say.” The sharp rebuke brought Yu Mu out of his astonishment.

“Er... why did you hit me?”

Boom!

The wave crashed down, and Yu Mu knew he had asked a truly foolish question.

When he surfaced again, An Shu spoke first. “Hurry up and untie this hemp rope, or I’ll beat you to death.”

Yu Mu looked at the threat looming above him and gripped the rope in his hand even tighter. “You can beat me to death, but I still won’t untie you.”

Inwardly, however, he thought, Am I an idiot? You’re this powerful. Even with you bound, I still can’t defeat you. If I set you free, wouldn’t I just be courting death?

“You... then go to hell!”

The wave crashed down once more. One enormous surge after another battered Yu Mu, yet apart from some pain, he suffered no harm from spiritual power.

It was not that An Shu was showing mercy. Ever since that single tear had appeared within his body, he could move freely in water and seemed no longer vulnerable to the damage caused by water-based spiritual power.

At least, spiritual power of An Shu's level could no longer injure him.

All he suffered now was ordinary physical harm from the waves, which was not fatal. That only made it more impossible for Yu Mu to release her. If An Shu were free to act without restraint, her terrifying sonic attacks would be enough to kill him.

An Shu, however, was growing increasingly furious. She could not understand why this despicable lecher before her was immune to her water spiritual power.

While Yu Mu had been unconscious, An Shu had already tried to take advantage of the opportunity to kill him. Unfortunately, her barrage of attacks had not only failed to kill him but had actually awakened him.

The endless waves could vent her hatred, but they could not truly do anything to him. Meanwhile, her spiritual power was being rapidly depleted, leaving An Shu deeply frustrated.

In her anger, she bit down on her pearly teeth, gave a delicate cry, and summoned two whirlwinds that swept Yu Mu into their midst.

Within water, An Shu's abilities were greatly enhanced. Combined with the fact that her strength had just risen by a level, she wielded the Water Spirit Arts with even greater ease.

Yu Mu was swept into the whirlwinds like a torn ship’s sail. Then the two vortexes began spinning in opposite directions, twisting him instantly into a human braid.

Yu Mu felt as though every bone in his body were about to snap. Shock filled his heart.

What a formidable girl! Even relying solely on physical force, she could still send me to my death.

At the critical moment, Yu Mu immediately unleashed the Art of Fear. The sudden appearance of a hideous ghost drained the color from An Shu's beautiful face. Yu Mu seized the opportunity to plunge back into the water.

With fear mingled with fury, An Shu shouted, “Not only are you an outrageous lecher, you also command ghosts! You truly are the greatest villain under heaven!”

It’s over! Yu Mu knew that, in this girl's eyes, his image would probably never recover.

Before Yu Mu could open his mouth to defend himself, An Shu summoned even more water dragons and swept him into their midst. He felt like a piece of laundry trapped inside a washing machine, tossed and turned until the river and sky spun before his eyes.

Heave—

Yu Mu had nearly vomited up all his bile, yet An Shu showed no intention of stopping. At that moment, let alone fighting back, he could scarcely remember who he was.

Seeing the countless whirlwinds merge into one enormous sphere, Yu Mu's last flicker of consciousness made a single decision. He suddenly transformed into the body of a bear, curled himself into a ball, and rolled and tumbled with the waves.

The night gradually brightened. Before they knew it, an entire night had passed.

After using her spiritual power again and again, An Shu was utterly exhausted. Only a single whirlwind still coiled around Yu Mu, and it had dwindled to the thickness of an arm.

Yet the stubborn girl continued to grit her teeth and persevere. She seemed determined not to stop until she had eliminated the greatest villain in all the world.

Yu Mu's condition was even worse. He had long since fallen unconscious, and it was impossible to tell whether he was alive or dead.

Splash!

At last, An Shu exhausted the last of her spiritual power and could no longer hold on. The whirlwind vanished, and Yu Mu fell into the water.

Although An Shu did not lose consciousness, she was bound so securely that she could not move at all. She could only drift downriver with the hemp rope trailing from Yu Mu's hand.

An Shu was frantic with anxiety, yet helpless. All she could do was try to draw upon the river water to recover her spiritual power as quickly as possible, hoping to kill Yu Mu before he awoke and thereby free herself.

As the two drifted along, An Shu's eyes suddenly lit up. A large ship had appeared ahead, moving slowly through the water.

Though she could not move her body, An Shu's mouth still worked perfectly well. She screamed toward the vessel with all her strength, “Help! Help me!”

An Shu had trained in vocal performance. Her voice was powerful and carried exceptionally far. Even across the vast river, it traveled a great distance.

Sure enough, someone aboard the ship seemed to hear her cries and turned the vessel toward them. An Shu was overjoyed. At last, she could escape this great villain.

As the ship drew near, an elderly couple leaned their white-haired heads over the side. Seeing the state the two were in, they immediately cast down a large net and hauled them aboard.

By coincidence, Yu Mu awoke at that very moment. When he discovered that he had been restrained, he instantly swept the area with his spiritual sense, and his expression changed dramatically.

He immediately leaned close to An Shu's ear and whispered, “This is a pirate ship...”

But before he could finish, An Shu drew her brows together and scolded him angrily, “Get away from me, you brute. You’re the one who—”

Before she could say “pirate,” Yu Mu suddenly pressed his lips against hers.

“Mmph—”

An Shu struggled desperately, but Yu Mu released her at once and hurriedly said, “Believe me, this isn’t a fishing net at all. Once we’re aboard, I’ll remove your bindings. You must run quickly.”

“You...” An Shu's pretty face flushed crimson. Before she could finish speaking, the large net had already been hauled up.

The old couple wore smiles and appeared perfectly ordinary. Yet for some reason, although An Shu resisted Yu Mu outwardly, she could not help believing him inwardly.

As soon as the net was loosened, Yu Mu indeed kept his word and recalled the Ever-Changing Hemp Rope.

The moment An Shu was freed, she immediately rose into the air.

But at that instant, the old woman's expression changed drastically. Her face twisted into a hideous grin as she gave a sinister cackle.

“Little minx, where do you think you’re going?”
