“Feng!”

Early the next morning, when the old master Qin Tianzheng knocked on the door, Qin Feng finally emerged from his cultivation state. He checked himself briefly; a whole night of cultivation had brought him only the faintest improvement in his strength.

Shaking his head in disappointment, Qin Feng’s gaze only grew more resolute.

Qin Tianzheng’s knock could only mean he had something important to discuss; Qin Feng dared not be careless. He quickly opened the door, inviting Qin Tianzheng inside to sit.

The old man’s expression was somewhat grim—clearly, he hadn’t slept well the previous night and had worries on his mind.

With his intelligence, Qin Feng could easily guess what weighed on his grandfather’s heart.

“Feng, I came today to tell you that we are preparing to leave Tianfeng City. But after we return to Luoyang Town…” Qin Tianzheng paused, searching for words that would not wound Qin Feng. Just as he was about to continue, Qin Feng interrupted—

“Grandfather, I have already made up my mind. Once we return to the Qin family, I may choose to leave and venture out into the world.”

Qin Feng was no fool.

Even if Qin Tianzheng didn’t bring it up, the Qin family’s Council of Elders would have. In the face of the family’s iron laws, no one dared defy them—least of all Qin Tianzheng, the family head.

By volunteering to leave, at least he would spare Qin Tianzheng some embarrassment.

Qin Tianzheng, of course, understood what Qin Feng was doing.

“Feng, if you don’t wish to leave, I would risk my life to protect your place in the family! You may reconsider this…” Qin Tianzheng’s eyes glistened with unshed tears, his face hardening as he spoke.

Though he had many grandsons, this one before him had moved him in a way he’d never felt before. Though he knew staying in the family might not be best for Qin Feng, he still tried to persuade him.

“Grandfather, my mind is made up. After we return, I will leave the Qin family.”

“Very well. Since you’re resolute, so be it,” Qin Tianzheng sighed, nodding helplessly.

“We should not linger here. Let’s set out for home as soon as possible.”

Unexpectedly, Qin Feng fell silent.

After a long pause, he suddenly said, “Grandfather, please take everyone back first. I wish to stay in Tianfeng City a while longer.”

Qin Tianzheng was startled. He was about to ask why when a commotion outside drew their attention. Then, a crisp, spirited voice rang out—

“Qin Feng, come out here!”

Qin Feng was taken aback. Someone really had come looking for trouble, and from the voice, it sounded like a woman.

Qin Tianzheng’s face darkened, his mood fouled, teetering on the brink of anger at being targeted in his own home.

But Qin Feng said, “Grandfather, let me handle this. Please arrange for everyone to return home as soon as possible. I will stay here a while. Since the city lord has given his word, no one will dare harm me in Tianfeng City, but it’s different for you all—best to leave quickly.”

After thinking it over, Qin Tianzheng nodded.

Qin Feng laughed heartily and strode out of the room.

He looked outside—

At the door stood a tall woman dressed in flamboyant red, hands planted on her hips, pouting, waiting for him to appear.

Her beauty was truly enchanting. Her revealing, provocative attire accentuated her alluring, curvaceous figure. Every gesture, every smile, sent a fragrant breeze wafting through the air, leaving the guards around her swallowing hard.

“It’s her?”

Qin Feng raised an eyebrow, slightly surprised.

He recognized her—she was the same woman he’d met at Jingshui Lake in Luoyang Town, the one who had stood atop the three-headed beast. At the time, he hadn’t even been dressed.

She looked briefly stunned when Qin Feng emerged, then her cheeks flushed pink.

The change was due to Qin Feng’s appearance—he had transformed. Once sickly and shorter than she, he now stood tall and imposing, the childishness gone from his face, replaced by sharp, masculine features.

Though he couldn’t compare to Qin Shaohong’s handsomeness, the way his black hair danced in the wind radiated a rare, sunlit charm.

Her blush deepened as she recalled his nakedness by the lake.

Thinking back on that awkward scene, the tall woman felt her face growing hot.

Both were momentarily dazed.

Qin Feng was the first to recover. He cupped his fists and asked, “May I ask the lady’s name, and what business brings you here?”

“Hmph!”

She snorted to cover her embarrassment, then raised her delicate fists and declared furiously, “Remember this well! My name is Qin Hongyu, and I’m here to teach you a lesson!”

“Qin Hongyu? Teach me a lesson?”

Looking at the captivating scowl on her face, Qin Feng sighed inwardly. Born to the Qin family, yet cursed with this bewitching charm—if she practiced certain seductive arts, she’d be a calamity to kingdoms. Instead, she’d grown into a spoiled young lady, her temper ill-suited to her allure, making her seem both out of place and irksome.

If only she could be sent to a certain island nation in his previous life, she’d become a peerless beauty with the right training.

Of course, these were just Qin Feng’s idle, modern thoughts; he was quite open-minded.

“What a pity…”

He shook his head, which, in Qin Hongyu’s eyes, seemed an insult.

Rage instantly flared in her beautiful eyes, so quickly that Qin Feng was caught off guard.

“Take this!”

With that, she twisted her slim waist lightning-fast, and a flash of red erupted—a long, snow-white leg descended on him like a mountain.

“Damn, she’s not even going to talk, just starts fighting? This girl’s really wild!”

With no time to think, Qin Feng’s palm instantly hardened, and he reached up, catching her straight, snowy leg. The force was immense, but he blocked it. Because of his angle, as he looked up, he caught sight of her pink undergarments beneath her skirt.

“Pfft—”

That glimpse nearly undid Qin Feng. His eyes widened, fixed on that intimate spot.

Qin Hongyu hesitated, surprised that Qin Feng dared to take her kick head-on.

But she quickly recovered—especially when she realized where his gaze had landed. Her cheeks flushed deep red, like a ripe peach. With a cold snort, she twisted her waist in a strange, exaggerated arc, then, with a thrust of her left leg, drove it straight into Qin Feng’s chest. The tremendous force sent him crashing into an artificial rockery.

Boom!

The powerful shockwave shattered the rocks behind him into countless pieces, burying Qin Feng beneath the rubble. For a long moment, there was no movement.

“Hmph, lecher! Just like Qin Shaohong! With this level of strength, he managed to defeat Qin Shaohong? Were those people lying to me?”

Qin Hongyu had been in a foul mood lately—especially after awakening her bloodline spirit. She had always been strong, yet only awakened a Profound-grade Dragon Soul. While that was a rare and high-level bloodline spirit, it was nothing compared to Qin Shaohong, who, though her equal in strength and always vexing her, had awakened an Earth-grade Dragon Soul.

Qin Shaohong, relying on his status as the city lord’s grandson, often teased her. Since their strengths were so close, neither could gain the upper hand, and she’d held a grudge ever since.

But Qin Hongyu was not one to admit defeat.

On the day of the awakening, she’d thought her Profound-grade Dragon Soul was impressive, only for Qin Shaohong to surpass her, awakening an Earth-grade one. That alone was upsetting, but after her and Qin Shaohong, even Heaven and Divine-grade Dragon Souls appeared.

For this prodigy among women, it was a blow—like a phoenix falling to earth.

After learning that Qin Shaohong and the others had been sent to the Qin family’s ancient domain for further cultivation, her sense of loss deepened.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. She’d bottled up so much frustration!

Fortunately, the so-called fallen genius had returned, giving her a perfect target for her ire. And since Qin Feng had reportedly defeated Qin Shaohong, she was even more eager to vent.

Of the three, only Qin Feng remained. So, her anger fell squarely on him.

A willful young lady acts on impulse—reason need not apply.

Having struck her blow, Qin Hongyu stood, brow slightly furrowed, somewhat puzzled. She’d heard from the guards that Qin Feng had beaten Qin Shaohong to a pulp; how could he be so weak?

But just then, another loud crash. The pile of stones scattered in all directions as Qin Feng sprang out.

He bore a trace of blood at the corner of his mouth, clearly suffering serious internal injury from that kick. After all, he’d taken the blow while distracted, without even activating his hardening technique. Had Qin Hongyu used her Profound-grade Dragon Soul, even if he survived, he’d have been crippled.

Even so, Qin Feng was annoyed.

This girl had clearly been pampered too long in the Qin family, spoiled to the core. If he didn’t teach her a lesson today, who knew what trouble she’d cause in the future…
