Chapter One Hundred Nineteen: The Mysterious Bloodfire
“Splash!”
Qin Feng fell into the Yang Blood Pool.
Just before entering, he glanced at the lecherous toad, which was heading toward Qin Xinyue. The toad didn’t chase him, clearly terrified of the Yang Blood Pool. Given its insatiable lust, Qin Xinyue was likely in grave danger. Just imagining the scene sent chills down Qin Feng’s spine, so he closed his eyes and immersed himself in the pool, preferring not to see anything.
Those two depraved lovers deserved such a fate.
At this moment, Qin Feng had no concern for others’ survival. The temperature inside the Yang Blood Pool was absurdly high—so intense that even his hardened divine power couldn’t shield him from the scorching heat. To protect his skin, he wrapped himself in the marrow spirit bone fire, using cold to isolate the extreme heat outside. This was the only way he could endure it.
Fortunately, the marrow spirit bone fire was with him; otherwise, he would have been burned alive!
Shaken, Qin Feng inwardly despised the celestial demon who had abandoned him—a typical traitor, blinded by greed.
The energy within the blood pool surged powerfully. Even soaking in it, Qin Feng felt its extraordinary effects. Though it couldn’t match the transformation wrought by the ancestral vein blood pool last time, it was still remarkable, especially since this blood was not of the same origin as his own. The effect was already impressive.
Yet, Qin Feng dared not release his bloodline soul to absorb it. Instead, he floated quietly in the pool, his spirit taut and alert, ready to respond to any sudden threat.
He knew a mysterious presence lurked in this Yang Blood Pool, watching him hungrily from the shadows.
“There’s a male toad in the Yin Blood Pool… what could be in this Yang Blood Pool? Please don’t let a female lecherous toad emerge—I can’t handle that!” Qin Feng silently prayed for himself.
Time trickled by. The shadowy entity seemed to be observing or waiting for the perfect moment to strike a fatal blow.
Qin Feng sensed it feared the marrow spirit bone fire.
The yin fire suppresses the yang fire, much like the yin and yang blood pools themselves, which naturally counterbalance and restrict each other.
But its endurance was far inferior to Qin Feng’s.
After lurking briefly, the creature suddenly burst out from a corner of the Yang Blood Pool, attacking fiercely.
Qin Feng opened his eyes amid the blood-red surroundings, his purple radiance flickering as he scrutinized the attacker.
At that moment, he fully saw what it was.
A blood-colored fire dragon, engulfed in mysterious crimson blood flames!
More precisely, it was a ball of crimson blood fire sustained by burning blood energy.
Moreover, this fire was evidently sentient, living by consuming blood. As it approached, Qin Feng felt as if all the blood coursing through his body was about to ignite.
“This is insane!”
“To think it can actually burn a person’s blood!”
If not for the marrow spirit bone fire shielding him, Qin Feng would have long since turned to ash—from the inside out, using his blood as fuel.
Struggling against unbearable heat, Qin Feng twisted his body and swam toward the bottom of the Yang Blood Pool.
His goal was to maintain distance from the flames. Too close, and even with the marrow spirit bone fire, his blood would eventually ignite.
Such self-immolation, burning from within outward, was agony no ordinary person could endure.
No wonder the lecherous toad feared this pool so much—it was terrified of this mysterious blood fire! The toad’s lust was boundless, and its origin was filthy blood, making this fire its natural nemesis.
The crimson blood fire pursued swiftly, closing the gap between them. Qin Feng hurriedly pondered a countermeasure.
This fire was no ordinary flame. In this vast sea of blood, it thrived like a fish in water. To eliminate it, he had to strike at its root.
That meant—
Draining all the blood from this Yang Blood Pool.
At that instant, Qin Feng was startled by his own resolve.
The pool was enormous, and even after swimming deep, the bottom remained unseen—an abyssal void that sent chills down his spine.
“How much blood is in this pool?” Qin Feng wondered, feeling uncertain.
Yet, he knew this plan wasn’t impossible.
He had his bloodline soul and the mysterious tree within his soul. Absorbing all this blood at once was beyond the bloodline soul’s capacity, which was still in a developmental stage and could only intake limited blood at a time. Even if absorption were possible, his body couldn’t handle such immense power—it would burst under the strain.
The only way was to force the mysterious tree to act.
Qin Feng believed the odds of success were reasonably high.
This entity was also growing and needed massive energy. It had spontaneously appeared in the ancestral vein blood pool before, absorbing his bloodline soul.
This time, the energy in the blood pool could satisfy it.
How could it refuse?
After some calculation, Qin Feng decided to take the gamble.
Victory would mean a perfect outcome; failure would mean annihilation.
“Let’s do this!”
Qin Feng lacked neither determination nor ruthlessness—he was harsher on himself than anyone else.
Resolute, he halted mid-pool, fixing his gaze sharply on the rapidly approaching crimson flames, his eyes blazing.
“If you want to kill me, then let’s get ruthless!”
The crimson blood flame reached him in an instant. The enormous blood dragon opened its jaws wide, biting ferociously at Qin Feng.
The searing heat immediately vaporized the blood around him, drying it up. Qin Feng felt the marrow spirit cold fire surrounding him squeezed to its limit, on the verge of extinguishing.
“This fire’s power surpasses even the marrow spirit cold fire!”
Of course, this depended on the environment. Here, amid blood, the crimson flame dominated. In a frigid place, the marrow spirit cold fire could gain the upper hand.
His body’s temperature soared, his skin beginning to crack. Enduring the pain, Qin Feng reached out to grasp the blood dragon’s head.
The moment his hand touched the dragon, two-headed black pythons emerged from within his body, their jaws clamping onto the crimson fire dragon.
The bloodline soul had appeared; the blood dragon hesitated slightly.
Clearly wary, but upon realizing Qin Feng’s bloodline soul was still weak, it abandoned hesitation and latched onto it.
As the black pythons devoured, the blood dragon counteracted by scorching Qin Feng’s bloodline soul.
A searing pain unlike any before surged through the bloodline soul, radiating into Qin Feng’s body. The agony penetrated to his marrow, as if his soul were being painfully extracted—unbearable!
“Ahh!”
Instantly, Qin Feng fainted from pain.
Only the bloodline soul’s instinct to consume remained, but it was clearly at a disadvantage.
Moreover, it was visibly shrinking!
Qin Feng had struggled long to develop his bloodline soul to this level, yet under the blood dragon’s scorching, it was regressing.
It seemed on the verge of destruction.
But this moment did not last long. Another black light, filled with merciless bloodthirst, suddenly burst forth from Qin Feng’s body!
