Chapter 104: Dismemberment and the Corpse-Flesh Pill
Qin Feng sneered in his heart. These petty tricks of his opponent had long been within his calculations.
As the two pink insects hung in mid-air, Qin Feng launched his counterattack. A cold fire instantly ignited within his pupils, freezing the two insects into small lumps of ice that fell to the ground with a clatter.
Not stopping there, Qin Feng gripped Old Man Qiu’s head, crushing the skull at the back with a forceful squeeze. Reaching into the occipital cavity, he tugged hard, extracting a black-and-white spinal cord that resembled a centipede.
The moment this centipede-like spinal cord emerged, it twisted and writhed with eerie flexibility, breaking free from Qin Feng’s grasp. It extended its nerve endings rapidly into the air, hovering like a giant centipede, gnashing its teeth and brandishing its claws.
As the nerve endings made contact with the severed arms, legs, heads, and organs scattered within the seventy-two coffins, the spinal cord miraculously drew them all together. Before Qin Feng’s astonished eyes, they assembled into a relatively complete corpse in mid-air.
Yet, the sight of the corpse was truly ghastly. Its entire body was covered in cracks, without a single patch of intact flesh.
So it was a reassembled corpse! No wonder it could manipulate a high-level formation like the Corpse Coffin Array.
Released from control, Old Man Qiu went limp in Qin Feng’s arms. Before losing consciousness, he clutched Qin Feng’s sleeve and murmured, "Brother Qin, I know it’s you. Don't worry about me. Go up the mountain quickly. Huo Siyan has been taken by Li Haoran. Go, go after them..."
With that, Old Man Qiu drifted into a deep coma. Qin Feng checked his breath; it was ragged, but fortunately, he was still holding onto life. He should survive.
Qin Feng let out a slight sigh of relief, though his gaze immediately turned icy. Old Man Qiu had been tortured mercilessly by this fragmented corpse; not only was his skin ruined, but his eyes had also been devoured by those two pink insects. Although he was alive, his future...
A surge of rage ignited in Qin Feng’s heart without warning.
"You deserve to die!"
These words were not directed at the fragmented corpse before him, but at one of the seventy-two coffins. As the words left his lips, a tall, gaunt woman in black rose from within that coffin.
She was terrifyingly thin, little more than skin and bones. Having spent so long in a coffin away from the sun, her skin had taken on a sickly, deathly pallor, marked with strange cyan corpse spots. In such a state, even the most beautiful features would become hideous.
Qin Feng couldn't be bothered to look twice. The woman, however, grinned with a bloodthirsty expression. "Little one, your flesh looks delicious. Come, let sister have a taste!"
Had he not just learned that Huo Siyan had been abducted, Qin Feng might have spent time letting the battered Old Man Qiu take his revenge on this woman. But now, he needed a swift resolution.
Without hesitation, he summoned the Heavenly Demon Blood-Branch Coffin. As the lid opened, a crimson glow erupted, enveloping the black-clad woman and the disgusting, fragmented corpse. With a *whoosh*, they were sucked into the coffin.
Neither the woman nor the corpse had even a chance to resist!
"This coffin is truly an incredible weapon for erasing both people and corpses," Qin Feng couldn't help but praise internally.
However, the Heavenly Demon reminded him, "Boy, your current strength is not enough to unleash most of my divine abilities. Against opponents that are too powerful, you won't be able to draw them into the coffin. So, if you encounter masters with a significant gap in rank, there is only one word: run!"
"Fine, I get it!" Qin Feng was used to the Heavenly Demon pouring cold water on his enthusiasm.
"What do you want to do with these two? Destroy them or refine them into Corpse-Flesh Pills?"
"Corpse-Flesh Pills? What are those?"
"I can't explain it in detail, but let's just say they are similar to the pills you humans refine, except you use spirit herbs, while I use living people or corpses. These pills are yin-natured; to a corpse, they are a divine elixir. If you wish, you can use them to cultivate a legion of super-enforcers. For living humans, while not as effective as for corpses, they are still highly nourishing and can certainly aid in cultivation progress. It’s essentially a concentrated essence of the refined person—much like your own talent for devouring flesh and blood."
Qin Feng arched a brow. This Heavenly Demon Blood-Branch Coffin was truly a diabolical treasure capable of slaughtering heaven and earth. To refine people or corpses into pills was absolutely defying the natural order! It was remarkably similar to the devouring function of his own mutated bloodline. Anyone who obtained this coffin would be tempted by such power, and if one lost control, it would undoubtedly lead them down the path of demonic obsession.
Glancing at the unconscious Old Man Qiu, Qin Feng gritted his teeth. "Refine them into a pill!"
"Very well!"
As the words were spoken, a flash of red light flickered across the coffin's surface. When it opened again, the woman and the corpse were gone, refined into a single, tiny, blood-red pill.
"The strength of these two was abysmal. It only produced a third-grade Flesh-Blood Pill."
As the Heavenly Demon grumbled, Qin Feng ignored him, taking the pill and placing it into Old Man Qiu’s mouth.
As the pill slid down his throat, Old Man Qiu’s complexion began to flush with color. The wounds and scars on his face and body began to heal at a visible rate. It was truly miraculous. However, while the wounds would close, they would still leave scars, and the pill could do nothing to restore his eyes.
Saving his life was enough.
Qin Feng looked around, selected a relatively intact coffin from the wreckage, and placed Old Man Qiu inside. He then used his *Zhongwu* to carve a deep cave into the cliffside halfway up the mountain, pushed the coffin inside, and sealed the entrance with stones.
"Old Man, the road ahead is even more dangerous. I have to leave you here. Whether you survive depends on your own fate. One may be blind in the eyes, but not in the heart; this might not be a bad thing for you. Your ideals and pursuits remain unfulfilled—I believe you will not die. If we meet again, I hope to see a brand new you."
"I hope you can carve out a path of your own!"
With that, Qin Feng turned and headed up the mountain without looking back.
Inside the cave, Old Man Qiu had regained consciousness. Though he had no eyes, a trail of cloudy tears streamed from his sockets. He let out a muffled sound, struggling to rise from the coffin to follow Qin Feng, but as he moved, a mysterious, painting-like stone on the cave wall against which the coffin rested suddenly shimmered. In the next instant, the coffin containing Old Man Qiu vanished into thin air.
