Chapter 65: The Penetrating Force (Third Update—Vote Requested)
“Concede defeat?” Ouyang Yanran was still confused about the situation when Qian Baidu had already leapt down from the stage.
Before Qian Baidu could rejoin Sunray Academy’s team, Fatty Gu came trotting up eagerly, threw his arms around Qian Baidu, and laughed, cursing, “You rascal, you really came through for me!”
Qian Baidu pushed Fatty Gu away. “You damn fatty, remember, you owe me a favor now!”
Fatty Gu, with a lecherous grin, bounded onto the stage, calling out as he went, “Miss Yanran, here I come!”
Ouyang Yanran’s brows knitted tightly as she saw Fatty Gu mount the stage. She didn’t know what to do; her impression of his wandering hands was all too vivid.
Fatty Gu stopped in front of Ouyang Yanran, his eyes glinting with mischief as he appraised her. “Miss Yanran, fate really does bring us together!”
“You… you… don’t come near me!”
Ouyang Yanran, frightened by that lascivious look, hurriedly retreated several paces, putting a safe distance between herself and Fatty Gu.
Fatty Gu feigned regret. “Miss Yanran, it’s the finals now, so I can’t hold back for you like last time!”
“Bah! I don’t need your mercy! If I can’t beat you, I’ll just concede—how’s that?” With that, Ouyang Yanran prepared to jump off the stage.
But Fatty Gu was not about to let her off so easily. He shouted, “Gu’s Supreme Martial Art—Chest Assault Dragon Claw!”
“Damn! That fat bastard is shameless and vile!” Qian Baidu cursed from below. “My family’s secret technique, ruined by him like this! That’s not Chest Assault Dragon Claw—it’s more like Breast-Grabbing Dragon Claw!”
Seeing Fatty Gu’s wolfish hands reaching for her chest, Ouyang Yanran’s face paled with fright, cursing him in her heart for his shamelessness, attempting to take advantage of her under the guise of the match before everyone’s eyes.
Not daring to turn, Ouyang Yanran simply retreated backwards!
“Careful, Miss Yanran!” Fatty Gu saw her misstep, about to fall off the stage, and lunged forward.
Ouyang Yanran fell from the stage, but did not hit the ground—in the last instant, she landed safely in Fatty Gu’s arms.
“Let go of me!” Realizing her situation, Ouyang Yanran’s first impulse was to escape Fatty Gu’s clutches.
This time, Fatty Gu behaved and refrained from any indecent moves, instead calling after her retreating figure, “Miss Yanran, tonight in the eastern grove under the parasol tree—don’t be late!”
Fatty Gu and Ouyang Yanran landed at the same time, making the match a draw. But since both had left the ring, neither could compete again.
At that moment, Ouyang Feiyun, who had stepped down earlier, stood up.
His gaze locked on Xin Lang, eyes brimming with challenge as he strode towards the stage.
Ouyang Feiyun had long studied Sunray Academy’s competitors. Meng Chuchu and another teammate could be discounted—only Xin Lang, Qian Baidu, and Fatty Gu Ge were the team’s true strength.
He wasn’t too concerned about Xin Lang’s prowess; after all, Xin Lang’s greatest achievement so far was merely reaching Warrior Level Ten. Qian Baidu and Fatty Gu were another matter: Qian Baidu was a Level Two Warrior, and Fatty Gu had even forced Ouyang Yanran to forfeit, so Ouyang Feiyun held some wariness towards them. But now that both had competed and left the stage, Ouyang Feiyun felt no more anxiety.
He was certain that, even if Xin Lang were a peerless genius with astonishing cultivation speed, his power could not possibly surpass a Level Three Warrior.
He thought to himself, “Hmph! I’m a Level Three Warrior. I’ve bided my time for so long, waiting to shine today! Xin Lang, if you’re only Level Ten, you’re not even qualified to serve as my stepping stone!”
Qian Baidu and Fatty Gu had already revealed their strength, and after this tournament would surely become famous. Xin Lang thought, “They’ve both had their moment. Now that the rules have changed, I should finish this quickly, claim the championship, and complete my five-diamond main quest.”
Before the rules changed, Xin Lang had worried Fatty Gu or Qian Baidu might lose to some hidden powerhouse. Now, with the new rules, Xin Lang was fully confident of winning the league and finishing his quest.
Xin Lang strode onto the stage.
Seeing him, Ouyang Feiyun’s lips curled into a sinister smile. “Xin Lang, I’ve waited so long for this moment! This time, I’ll show you the price of crossing me!”
Xin Lang’s face was expressionless, his tone indifferent. “Why are you wasting so many words? Are you ready? If you are, let’s begin.”
“Hmph, since you’re in such a hurry for a beating, I’ll oblige!” Ouyang Feiyun clenched his fists, his excitement making his hands tremble. He shouted, “Xin Lang, see my might! Third Layer of Hidden Force—Penetrating Strength!”
“Good! Yun’er can finally show what he’s got!” In the stands, Ouyang Tianfeng exclaimed happily to Li Xuanming and Wang Junwei beside him, “My nephew, that’s my nephew!”
“Penetrating Strength? He’s a Level Three Warrior?” Li Xuanming curled his lip in disbelief.
“If he truly is, that’s real talent. But…” Wang Junwei paused. “That show-off attitude isn’t exactly endearing.”
Ouyang Tianfeng had wanted to praise Ouyang Feiyun further, but Li Xuanming and Wang Junwei’s remarks left him speechless.
“Mid-Tier Earth Technique, Bone-Shattering Hand!” Ouyang Feiyun launched the same technique as Ouyang Yanran, charging toward Xin Lang with a sly smile. “Xin Lang, I’m going to crush every bone in your body and knead you into a dough doll!”
Facing Ouyang Feiyun’s mid-tier Earth technique, Bone-Shattering Hand, backed by the third layer of Hidden Force, Xin Lang remained unmoved, his gaze utterly indifferent to Ouyang Feiyun’s presence. From start to finish, he had never regarded Ouyang Feiyun as a worthy opponent.
In Xin Lang’s eyes, Ouyang Feiyun simply wasn’t qualified to be his adversary.
From the VIP seats, Li Xuanming noticed Xin Lang’s composure and a glint flashed in his eyes. “Hm? I must have overlooked him before! How did I not notice such a promising talent?”
“Heh, I’ve always said my nephew has potential…” Ouyang Tianfeng started to boast again.
But Li Xuanming doused his enthusiasm with cold water. “I’m not talking about your nephew—I mean that boy! Look at his eyes, he has the makings of a genius!”
