The third update is delivered right on time, brothers, I need your votes!
==================================
Xin Lang hesitated, unable to make up his mind. He pondered the issue all the way as he walked. When he finally appeared at the entrance of their beginner class, the room instantly fell silent, and every pair of eyes turned to look at him.
Caught off guard by the attention, Xin Lang paused for a moment, but his composure held. Anyone else might have been so intimidated that they would have turned back.
“What’s going on? Even if I’m an admitted transfer student, even if I fought Qian Baidu, their reaction shouldn’t be this extreme!” Xin Lang wondered to himself.
With everyone watching, he made his way to his seat. His seat was right next to the left wall of the classroom, and on his right was Fatty Gu Ge. However, today, he noticed that Fatty had shifted a seat to the right. Not only that, but everyone in his row had moved one seat to the right in perfect unison. This shift left one person in the row with no seat, so that person moved to the row behind, and the students in that row followed suit, each moving over by one seat.
“Uh… who could possibly wield such influence that two-thirds of the class would change seats just for them?” Xin Lang mused.
“Fatty, what’s going on?” Xin Lang asked Fatty Gu Ge, who was closest to him.
Fatty Gu Ge looked at Xin Lang with envy and replied, “Boss, don’t worry, you’ll find out soon enough! By the way, someone’s taken your seat—you’d better sit in my old spot!”
“Oh!” It was just a seat, so Xin Lang didn’t care. He sat down next to Fatty, leaving the seat by the wall empty.
As soon as Xin Lang sat down, the classroom once again fell into silence, all eyes turning toward the door.
Meng Chuchu was quite accustomed to being the center of attention; she had experienced this countless times since childhood. Yet, there was one person’s reaction in the classroom that infuriated her—Xin Lang. At that moment, he was frowning deeply, lost in thought, completely ignoring her presence.
Inwardly, Meng Chuchu fumed, “I refuse to believe I can’t handle you!”
Suppressing her anger, she walked gracefully over to Xin Lang.
Xin Lang suddenly felt a barrage of envious and resentful glares directed at him.
He looked up, just as Meng Chuchu’s captivating voice called out, “Classmate, could you let me through, please?”
Any other male classmate would have jumped up eagerly, stepping aside like a gentleman to let her pass. However, Xin Lang only scooted his chair forward a little, showing no intention of standing up.
“Damn, does this transfer kid think he’s someone special? Doesn’t he know he ought to respect a beautiful girl?” one boy muttered resentfully.
Another flamboyantly dressed boy chimed in, “I completely agree with you. I support you challenging him—at least in spirit!”
The resentful boy rolled up his sleeves, about to stand and confront Xin Lang, but the flamboyant boy added, “But be careful. I heard yesterday the transfer kid beat Qian Baidu up pretty badly to get revenge for Fatty Gu.”
“Ah… Ow… My… my stomach hurts a bit. Once I’ve rested, I’ll definitely challenge him!” The resentment quickly dissolved.
Everyone in the class was watching Xin Lang and Meng Chuchu. Seeing that Xin Lang had no intention of getting up, Meng Chuchu’s chest heaved with anger. If it weren’t for the task her sister had given her, she would have taught this indifferent fellow a lesson.
Left with no choice, Meng Chuchu forced down her fury and squeezed past Xin Lang’s chair from behind.
Now Xin Lang understood the reason behind the mass seat shuffling—it was all to make room for this little princess.
He had no interest in such childish antics. At the moment, he was caught between the dilemma of “leveling up” or “unlocking the martial arts techniques section.”
“Xin, not only are we neighbors in the dorm, but our seats are side by side too. What a coincidence!” Meng Chuchu greeted Xin Lang.
The surrounding men nearly coughed up blood at her words. “Coincidence? Yesterday, wasn’t it this beauty who requested the seat change? She specifically asked for the seat next to Xin Lang, and now she calls it a coincidence! Is she lovesick? Does she actually like the silent, brooding type like him?”
“Xin, your name is Xin Lang, right?”
“Xin, how old are you?”
“Xin, I heard you used to attend the College of Alchemy—why did you suddenly transfer to Xuyang Academy?”
“Xin, …”
“Xin, …”
Meng Chuchu asked one question after another, but Xin Lang didn’t answer any of them, continuing to ignore her completely.
Seeing no reaction, Meng Chuchu grabbed Xin Lang’s arm and shook it like a spoiled child. “Xin, Xin…”
Growing impatient, Xin Lang glared at her and said, “Don’t bother me. I’m thinking.”
Seeing Meng Chuchu’s eyes fill with tears after his glare, Xin Lang helplessly fished out a piece of candy from his pocket and tossed it to her. “Here, have a lollipop. Don’t disturb me. Go play by yourself.”
Petrified. Completely petrified. The entire class was stunned into utter stillness.
Staring at the lollipop in her hand, Meng Chuchu was frozen in place—not just her, but also Fatty Gu Ge and every student in the beginner class.
“Uncle?”
“What does he mean by ‘uncle’? Is there some family relation between this beauty and the transfer student?”
“From what she said, they shouldn’t be relatives. They must’ve just met—at most, yesterday!”
After the shock wore off, the classroom buzzed with heated discussion.
Xin Lang ignored the commotion and Meng Chuchu beside him, focusing instead on unlocking the martial arts techniques section in his leveling device.
He had been torn about those 11 experience points, but this class finally gave him the reason to decide.
Because this class was martial arts, of course he wanted to unlock the “martial arts techniques section” and see what it could do.
Xin Lang tapped the “Unlock” button beneath the martial arts techniques section on his device, and a prompt instantly appeared: “Unlocking the Martial Arts Techniques Section requires 10 experience points. Proceed?”
“Yes,” Xin Lang chose to unlock it.
