087 is President Jin, not President Jing.
As expected, after only two steps, a door beside her was flung open and a little girl of about three years old dashed out of the room, toddling on short legs, and picked up the cloth doll lying on the floor.
This was the culprit responsible for Lin Xia’s fall.
Lin Xia almost ground her teeth in anger, thinking to herself, damn it, what kind of family brings their kid to stay in a five-star hotel?
Then the little girl's mother followed her out, casting a puzzled glance at Lin Xia and the man, who were still tightly entwined. Seeing her daughter hugging the doll and staring curiously at them, the woman’s eyes flickered with disdain. She quickly scooped up her child, muttering under her breath, “To behave so shamelessly in front of a child and in public—girls these days, honestly.”
With that, she slammed the door shut right in their faces.
…
Who could be more miserable than her? What had she done to deserve this?
If that kid hadn’t left her things scattered everywhere, Lin Xia wouldn’t have fallen, wouldn’t have ended up tangled with this man.
Sensing Lin Xia’s overwhelming resentment, the man couldn’t help but smile, wrapping his arm around her and briskly leading her to the door of room 1223.
“The key.”
So concise and direct. Lin Xia curled her lips, took out the room card, and unlocked the door.
The moment the door opened, Lin Xia shot into the bathroom like a racing rabbit.
She closed the bathroom door and leaned against it, letting out a sigh of relief.
She really couldn’t bear to stay in the same room with that man a second longer.
Then she caught sight of herself in the mirror.
Her usually clear and indifferent eyes were now shimmering, filled with embarrassment and frustration. Her delicate cheeks were flushed, the tip of her nose, the corners of her eyes, even her ears were so red they looked like they could bleed—utterly humiliated.
Her long, thick eyelashes blinked, making her look even more charming.
She looked irresistible, someone people would want to tease and… cherish.
Lin Xia raised a hand uncertainly, touching her rosy cheeks, lost in thought.
So she could be so exquisitely beautiful, not just an observer of Liu Ziqing and her friends?
Her gaze shifted to her dress, and she felt mortified enough to scratch the walls. Oh god—there was a huge red stain on her white dress, front and back. Surely that man’s clothes were stained too…
Just as she was thinking about it, her phone rang.
She rummaged through her bag for the phone. “Hello, Meow Sister.”
“Xia Xia, are you awake? I’m on my way back. Do you need me to bring you anything to eat?”
Covering the phone, Lin Xia moved closer to the mirror and said miserably, “Meow Sister, my period started. Please buy me two packs of pads—I need Seven Degrees Space Soft Cotton Day Use and Sofy Elastic Fit Overnight 350.”
Chen Qing was surprised. “You haven’t eaten yet? Should I bring you something?”
“No need, Meow Sister. I’m just waiting for the pads. Also, in the room…” There was a strange man in the room—how could she say that?
“What’s wrong in the room?”
“Oh, Meow Sister, just hurry back. I don’t need anything else, just the pads. Please hurry.”
“All right, I’ll be there in ten minutes.”
After finishing the call in the bathroom, Lin Xia took off her sticky clothes and prepared to shower.
Meanwhile, the man left outside had his phone ring as well—it was his mischievous friend, Wu Tianhao.
“Hello.”
“I say, Jin, that’s cold! I’ve finally come back from a capitalist country, and you don’t even pick me up.”
The man glanced at the dark blood stains on his trousers, frowning. “Aren’t you busy with your beauty right now? Still thinking about me?”
Wu Tianhao chuckled, “Where are you now? Waiting for me at the hotel for a welcome party?”
“Mm.”
“Wait ten minutes then—we’ll be there in ten.”
“Buy me a set of suits from the mall.”
“What?” Wu Tianhao scratched his ear, thinking he misheard.
“I said, buy me a suit.” He hung up without waiting for a reply.
“What’s wrong?” his female companion asked. “Weren’t you going shopping? I need to buy something too. Jin’s so odd—doesn’t he always wear bespoke clothes?”
She shrugged. “Who knows what he’s thinking? He’s always hard to figure out.”
“Right, let’s hurry. His tone was casual, but he sounds urgent.”
The mall was close to the hotel. They bought the suit and drove back, arriving within ten minutes.
“He booked you a room on the twelfth floor too?” After stepping out of the elevator, they walked toward their assigned room.
Wu Tianhao nodded, pulling out his phone. “I’ll call and ask where he is.”
The call connected. “Hey, Jin, which room are you in? I’m with Xiao Qing, on the twelfth—”
As he spoke, they reached the door, swiped the card, and opened it. They saw a man in a bathrobe about to open the door. Chen Qing exclaimed in surprise, “Jin Ye, what are you doing here?”
Immediately, Chen Qing noticed the bathroom door opening, and Lin Xia, wrapped in a bath towel, poked her head out, looking pitifully at her.
Taking a deep breath, Chen Qing grabbed her bag and slipped into the bathroom.
Seeing Jin Ye with water dripping from his hair, clearly fresh from a shower, and the adorable, embarrassed Lin Xia, Wu Tianhao’s titanium alloy dog eyes sparkled with golden light. The corner of his mouth curled into a knowing smile.
He strode over and bumped Jin Ye’s shoulder, teasing, “Oho, doing well for yourself, huh? You’ve managed to win over such a young little lady. Tsk tsk, she’s not even eighteen yet, is she?”
Ignoring Wu Tianhao’s nonsense, Jin Ye closed the door, grabbed the Armani bag from Wu Tianhao, and went into the bedroom to change.
Wu Tianhao leaned against the bedroom door, whistling at Jin Ye’s muscles, making fun of him. “Wow, you’re in even better shape than before. So, did the little lady appreciate your physique?”
“Shameless.” Jin Ye stared at Wu Tianhao expressionlessly and spat out these words.
Wu Tianhao immediately adopted a dramatic pose, clutching his chest in mock heartbreak. “How can you treat me like this? I rushed over right after landing, and you…”
Meanwhile, in the bathroom, Chen Qing spun Lin Xia around, checking her carefully. She kept muttering, “He didn’t do anything to you, did he? You’re still so young—Jin Ye wouldn’t be that much of a beast, would he?”
Lin Xia’s face, which had finally calmed down, blushed again.
Just as she was about to speak, she felt a warm sensation below, something trickling out. She quickly shook her head, “Meow Sister, where are the pads?”
Before Chen Qing returned, Lin Xia could only sit on the toilet, waiting for her.
Thinking about the man who’d come with Meow Sister, Lin Xia’s face grew even hotter, feeling like a boiled duck.
