Chapter Ninety-Two: Nuclear Blast
Watching An Rushiang’s departing silhouette, then glancing at the fries on the plate, Mu You let out a wry smile.
He had once believed it was his own extraordinary charisma that had drawn An Rushiang to help him again and again. Even knowing she had her own designs, he had still been confident, convinced that within those designs there was at least a little willingness on her part.
Only today did he finally understand: An Rushiang had long since seen through his caution and intelligence, and had deliberately kept her heart open all along, allowing the “smart” him to slowly come to know her character. If both sides approved of one another’s nature, then, as she had said, they could become true allies.
Only now, it turned out, had he barely been worthy.
Yet just the same, An Rushiang’s words had finally untied the knot in Mu You’s heart. Since she had laid everything out so plainly, there was no reason for him to hold back any longer. He fully accepted her alliance.
This was good. Very good.
“Big brother, the older sisters around you are all so scary. They say such sweet things, but inside they’re still as still as water, maybe even... dead inside.”
Mu You’s tiny companion’s voice sounded beside his shoulder.
“That’s normal. They’re not just women, they’re female death-row inmates, and even... the queenpins among female death-row inmates who know how to have all kinds of fun.”
As always, Mu You traded light banter with her as usual, but then sensed something off. Today, Tiny Eyes seemed a little different. That voice didn’t seem to be coming from Final Punishment itself.
Mu You hurriedly turned his head toward his shoulder and found that only thumb-sized Tiny Eyes was sweetly smiling at him. She spread her arms and clutched tightly onto his earlobe, then gave it a hard kiss with a smack.
“Tiny Eyes! Can you break free from Final Punishment’s control?!”
Mu You’s face lit up with joy at the sight. He quickly cupped the thumb-sized Tiny Eyes carefully in his palm and asked with a smile.
Even Mu You himself did not know when he had last smiled so happily.
“Not yet.”
Tiny Eyes’ large blood-red eyes were especially bright. Her lashes fluttered again and again, full of boundless cuteness and obedience.
Mu You gently set the tiny Tiny Eyes down beside the fries. Just as she was about to explain, she was instantly drawn in by the aroma of the fries. She crawled to the edge of the plate and stared fixedly at them, swallowing over and over.
Seeing her adorable, instantly distracted expression, Mu You immediately picked out the thinnest fry from the pile and let Tiny Eyes taste it first. To Mu You’s surprise, she really did take a bite with an “ah-woof” sound, leaving a tiny crescent-shaped bite mark in the fry. Then, puffing out her little cheeks, she happily ate with gusto, her two tiny hands tapping rhythmically against her cheeks in blissful delight.
“Here, try this one too.”
As he spoke, Mu You dipped the fry in his hand into ketchup and brought it to Tiny Eyes’ mouth. Just as Mu You swallowed the fry in his own mouth, she obediently took another bite. Her expression was dazed with enjoyment, so cute it nearly melted his heart.
“Tell big brother, which one tastes better?”
“Mmm... they’re all so delicious.”
Tiny Eyes thought seriously for a moment before answering with some difficulty.
Mu You immediately laughed at that, affectionately tapping the little head of Tiny Eyes. Then a red lotus slowly bloomed. Using its petals as blades and carefully controlling the heat, he divided the remaining fries little by little into sizes Tiny Eyes could eat, leaving half plain and coating the other half with ketchup.
“Come on, hold it yourself and eat. They’re all yours.”
Mu You placed one of the ketchup-coated fries in front of Tiny Eyes. She had to lift both hands just to grasp the still-rather-thick fry, then stuck out her tiny tongue—so small it was almost impossible to see—and licked the ketchup on top. Her little eyes narrowed slightly, and she looked blissful beyond words.
“All right, now tell big brother how this all happened.”
Mu You was in no hurry. Only after Tiny Eyes had eaten nearly enough did he ask again.
Tiny Eyes, just like Mu You, sucked on every finger that had touched the fries as she earnestly explained.
“The ordinary death-row inmates here are much stronger than the sickly dead and even ordinary people I’ve eaten before. And the souls of the people this morning were several times stronger than ordinary death-row inmates. Not only were they very fresh and intact, there were more than a hundred of them. They not only completely restored my injured vitality, they even allowed me to temporarily slip partway free of Final Punishment’s control and produce this clone.”
When she finished speaking, Tiny Eyes, still sitting on the ground, stood up again. Her body vanished from where she stood in an instant, and the next moment she appeared on Mu You’s shoulder. Resting her head against his neck, she said excitedly, “From now on, I’ll be big brother’s scout. Since big brother has to take part in the exchange event, Tiny Eyes will go scout the way for big brother first. Anyway, no one can see Tiny Eyes.”
After hearing this, Mu You suddenly felt that having Tiny Eyes made him simply ridiculously overpowered.
This was basically the same as having N extra lives, wasn’t it!
Mu You steadied himself, then, together with Tiny Eyes, prepared to use his new-player benefit as An Rushiang had said.
Before using it, Mu You had specifically looked up how to improve his odds of winning. But when he discovered that chain of point values, he utterly abandoned the idea.
Screw it. Win or not, just draw!
The instant Mu You pressed his thumb onto the interface, hundreds of thousands of windows across the entire screen began scrolling simultaneously, so fast that he could not make them out. At the same time, a sixty-second countdown lit up above the interface.
“Tiny Eyes, tell me when to stop.”
“Stop!”
At Tiny Eyes’ command, Mu You immediately pulled back his thumb.
Ding...
“Hello, dangerous death-row inmate Mu You. Congratulations, you have won: Nuclear Explosion. A specialist will deliver it to Room 0 on the thirteenth floor of Building A shortly.”
What the hell was this? Why did the picture on the interface look so much like a turd egg?
But when the Nuclear Explosion was delivered before Mu You’s eyes, he had the urge to blast the delivery staff member, who was barely suppressing laughter, to death with a single burst of First Glimpse, Sovereign Flame. The woman picked up the Nuclear Explosion with a tissue held over her hand and handed it to Mu You. When she saw his expression as if he had just stepped in dog shit, she could no longer hold back her laughter and even patted Mu You on the shoulder, signaling him to think positively.
Back in the room, Tiny Eyes flashed directly to the side of the Nuclear Explosion, trying to lean in for a careful look, but Mu You immediately picked her up and carried her away.
Because at that moment, Mu You had actually caught a faint, almost imperceptible stench drifting through the air, and the black lines on his face were about to take over the entire screen.
He scanned the Nuclear Explosion with his electronic watch, and detailed information instantly appeared on the display.
“Nuclear Explosion, no rank, the core of the slaughter-type imperial weapon Romantic Gun Platform. Use: can endlessly transform the user’s spiritual power into combat strength. Cost: spiritual power will be exhausted to a corresponding degree, until brain death. Preservation method: must be wrapped in the feces of the dangerous species Purple Streak Lamb to be preserved long-term.”
An imperial weapon!
Again an imperial weapon!
So this Nuclear Explosion was actually the core of the Romantic Gun Platform. Thinking of Xuan Yao’s Snake Woman, Ghost Tathagata, and its terrifying destructive power, could this Nuclear Explosion really be that strong as well?!
But when Mu You saw the last line, his face turned completely dark.
Damn it, it really was a turd egg after all!
