Chapter Seventy-Six: The Mirror of Destruction of Nine Demons and Nine Gods
"You dare tell me to get lost? In the entire Twelfth Building, no one has ever spoken to me like this. You must have a death wish!"
Dragontongue was at first stunned by Mu You's earth-shattering transformation, but seeing himself so humiliated, he roared in fury, slamming his palm onto the ground. Instantly, the seven-colored barrier erupted into countless blades of radiant light, whistling straight for Mu You.
"A head-on clash? I like it!"
The blood-flame wings traced a graceful arc in the air, sweeping away the smoke with a sudden gale. The momentum sharpened, and a torrent of fiery meteors surged forward, recklessly colliding with the sea of light blades.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
From the dim half-lit sky came a torrent of sharp explosions, shockwaves mingled with the blood of both combatants splattering in all directions. The scene was razor-edged, intense to the extreme!
Dragontongue, seeing that he could not take down Mu You in a short time, grew greatly enraged. The seven-colored barrier folded in on itself, the hues merging until they became a milky white, all condensed in Dragontongue's grasp, growing ever more blinding.
Dragontongue abruptly raised the blazing white spot above his head; above his brows appeared eighteen diamond-shaped markings, exuding a wild, primordial aura at first glance.
"Swastika Calamity: Mirror of Nine Demons and Nine Gods!"
As the words fell, a point of blazing white burst forth. Around Dragontongue appeared eighteen radiant mirrors—nine etched with demons, nine painted with gods. Though their markings were faint, they continually radiated a natural, unparalleled ancient grandeur.
"Oh my, Dragontongue is furious!"
Zhenmei, witnessing the spectacle, coquettishly covered her lips, 'surprised and regretful', and remarked to An Ruoxiang.
An Ruoxiang, seeing Dragontongue summon such a formation, wasted no time—her hair cascaded loose, and with a flick of her head, a dagger—seeming neither jade nor stone—shot forth. Its blade gleamed cold as water, imbued with peerless killing intent, aimed straight at Dragontongue!
For the first time, An Ruoxiang unleashed her full strength before the crowd, vanishing instantaneously. Before He Jing and the others could discern her movement, she had already closed in within ten feet of Dragontongue!
She actually kept pace with the flying dagger!
"Wretch! I won't let you succeed!"
Zhenmei, seeing this, flicked her wrist and intercepted An Ruoxiang's dagger with a short blade strikingly similar; the flash of steel spun into the air.
An Ruoxiang, undeterred, surged her speed once more, leaping high, catching the dagger midair. She used its blade to reflect the distant explosion's brilliant light into Dragontongue's eyes, seizing the instant his eyes shut instinctively, flipping and hurling the dagger again—this time, targeting his brow!
"With your skills, you're not even worthy to touch Dragontongue!"
Dragontongue, fully activating the 'Swastika Calamity: Mirror of Nine Demons and Nine Gods', had no time to dodge. Zhenmei intercepted the dagger once more, spun it several times, and struck back at An Ruoxiang. The latter sidestepped, seized the first blade, and, seeing Dragontongue unimpeded, her expression turned grim and cold. An Ruoxiang now faced Zhenmei, for the first time emanating a chillingly exotic fragrance.
"Are you afraid? My heavens, the famed An Ruoxiang actually knows fear—who is that young man to you?"
Seeing An Ruoxiang's murderous intent unleashed upon herself, Zhenmei grew curious about Mu You.
"Fear won't help. He's doomed!"
Zhenmei leisurely polished her nails with the dagger, speaking unhurriedly.
"If anything happens to him, I'll take you with me to the grave!" An Ruoxiang snarled, her face full of murderous intent.
"You'll be the one buried!"
The two women hurled threats, then instantly clashed. Their twin blades flashed with endless dark light, carrying a relentless resolve to fight to the death, entwined in a fierce struggle! Both moved at breakneck speed, striking and retreating, colliding again only to separate by several meters.
"Tea Blossom Blade, forged from Celestial Sea Mithril. I wonder how it compares to my Deepsea Water Jade Crystal Mother Stiletto—stronger or weaker? Haha!" Zhenmei laughed as the duel remained undecided.
"Bodhi Butterfly Dream: Blossoms Along the Path!"
Her answer was An Ruoxiang's icy, stellar voice. Wherever she passed, countless bodhi flower buds appeared, blooming and withering into a torrent of fallen petals. Every blossom danced around the Tea Blossom Blade, sharp enough to slice through space, fiercely assaulting Zhenmei!
"Second Dance: White Sorrow!"
Zhenmei gripped the Crystal Mother Stiletto tightly, blood streaming down the water jade and onto the blade.
Drip. Blood fell to the ground, nothing seemed to happen. The bodhi petals crashed straight into Zhenmei, whose surprised expression slowly twisted into a sly grin as her body faded into illusion, leaving only the bloodstain.
An illusion!
"Where are you slashing?"
The Water Mother Stiletto pierced straight through An Ruoxiang's throat. Zhenmei rested her chin on An Ruoxiang's shoulder, taunting triumphantly, but as she pulled out the blade, she realized the terrified beauty before her dissolved into a mass of bodhi petals, wrapping tightly around herself!
Also an illusion!
"Obviously, I'm slashing at your vital point!"
Amid the swirl of petals, An Ruoxiang's voice rang out, and the Tea Blossom Blade attacked Zhenmei from all directions. Zhenmei rolled her eyes, ignoring the petals, parrying every strike.
The crowd was shocked—the two women possessed terrifying power!
Meanwhile, Dragontongue's eighteen radiant mirrors were fully assembled.
"Kid, you shouldn't have provoked me!"
Dragontongue spoke, then crouched and pressed his palms together, shouting, "Open!"
At once, the Mirror of Nine Demons and Nine Gods unleashed a barrage of dazzling lights. Mu You, relying on the blood wings' power, accelerated again, but Dragontongue's attacks filled the sky, leaving no escape. In the blink of an eye, Mu You was wounded in several places!
"Damn it—'Burning Silence: Crimson Lotus!'"
The blood wings swelled violently, and a blood-red lotus appeared in the sky above. It expanded rapidly, casting a nearly hundred-meter-wide shadow.
"Heavens!"
"Is that kid even human?"
"Damn, what a monstrous trump card!"
As the crowd scattered in panic, they muttered incessantly.
"One Thought Blossom: Turmoil of the Pagoda!"
The world-ending crimson lotus bloomed, shrouding the sky as it pressed down on Dragontongue.
"I told you, you're doomed—even if you have more tricks!"
Dragontongue hadn't expected Mu You to hold on so long at full power. Frustration and anger drove him to roar again. The nine god mirrors linked together, a milky white ring of light shot forth, colliding with the giant crimson lotus. Both the lotus and the mirrors vanished into mutual annihilation.
Mu You panted heavily—the all-out attack took a toll, whether Dragontongue could withstand it or not.
As he sensed something amiss with the lotus, the expected explosion delayed, and suddenly nine demon mirrors appeared overhead. A pitch-black annihilative light joined together, instantly engulfing Mu You!
Damn!
Mu You was shocked, his body enveloped by black light.
"Mu You!"
An Ruoxiang, seeing this, couldn't help but cry out, no longer caring about Zhenmei, rushing full speed at Dragontongue. The Tea Blossom Blade blazed with unprecedented brilliance!
"Oh dear, turning your back to me? How little you must think of Zhenmei!"
Breaking free from An Ruoxiang's illusion, Zhenmei grew angrier with every word, nearly on the verge of losing control!
"You'll pay for your arrogance—die!"
She screamed viciously.
An Ruoxiang ignored her, for she saw Dragontongue about to strike again. Her eyes burned red with urgency.
At this moment, she had only one goal—kill Dragontongue and buy time for Mu You.
"You actually survived that attack? Damn, you're a freak! Go to hell!"
With that, the nine god mirrors shattered the crimson lotus, appearing beneath Mu You. In that instant, the Mirror of Nine Demons and Nine Gods encircled him completely. Black and white light began to brew.
Dragontongue: "Die!"
An Ruoxiang: "Stop!"
Zhenmei: "Die, wretch!"
Three shouts echoed across the land, only to be drowned out by an even more earth-shaking roar.
As the black light devoured ninety percent of the blood glow, a sudden surge of blazing gold burst forth from the pitch-black darkness. A lifelike golden wing, as radiant as a phoenix's, sliced through the gloom and descended. Crimson shadow appeared at the corners of Mu You's eyes, and the scarlet in his pupils became an ominous gaze, like the Lord of the Underworld surveying the souls of hell.
Mu You's golden wings trembled lightly, scattering the Mirror of Nine Demons and Nine Gods. He appeared directly above Zhenmei, at the moment when the Water Mother Stiletto was about to pierce An Ruoxiang's heart. Mu You descended from the sky, his legs clamping Zhenmei's head.
Crack—
The sound of a skull about to shatter rang out. Zhenmei froze in terror, halting the Crystal Mother Stiletto inches from An Ruoxiang's heart. Meanwhile, An Ruoxiang pressed the Tea Blossom Blade to Dragontongue's throat, and Dragontongue's Mirror of Nine Demons and Nine Gods enveloped Mu You once more.
None of the four moved—the battle had abruptly become a stalemate. Whoever moved first would die first.
Ding—
The countdown ended.
Eight instructors vanished from their monitors, reappearing to surround the four from eight directions.
The slaughter began.
