Chapter Twenty-Nine: Who Is Mu You
“A meeting gift?” Bai Zai was taken aback upon hearing this. He looked Mu You up and down, noting that aside from a pair of trousers, the pockets were cleaner than his face—what could he possibly have to give as a meeting gift?
“Don’t overthink it. Your big brother’s meeting gift is quite special. After tonight’s Man Hunts Ghost is over, you’ll understand.” Mu You saw Bai Zai’s confusion and explained with a smile.
There was something else Mu You didn’t say: this gift was so special that Bai Zai’s brother might very well risk his life for it.
But from the moment Bai Zai had earnestly begged him to be his big brother, Mu You had already made up his mind. There was something he had to do for Bai Zai.
And that was: to kill his father.
That malignant tumor of evil—he was determined to erase it from this world once and for all!

Death Row Paradise, Lethal Web Zone.
This was a vast man-made canyon. The two cliffs, each a thousand yards high, were connected by a web of steel suspension cables, woven like a spider’s web. Mechanical spiders of all shapes and sizes scuttled swiftly along the web’s threads. Their enormous abdomens could carry people, and at this moment, cries of terror and greed echoed from the vividly colored mechanical spiders.
Inside one of the small pink spiders—
“Boss Ruxiang, what do we do? That big purple beast is catching up!” The small-eyed convict asked anxiously. Behind them, a portly middle-aged man was piloting a mechanical spider three times the size of theirs, pursuing relentlessly. His eyes leered at Ruxiang’s graceful back, and he grinned lecherously, firing arrows at them whenever he could.
Though the small spider climbed faster than the giant one, the latter’s size meant every stride covered several of the smaller spider’s steps. Worse, it could spit sticky webs to hinder them, impossible to guard against!
Hunching low, the small-eyed convict scrambled to Ruxiang’s feet, hiding in the passenger seat to avoid the arrows. He deeply regretted his poor stamina, which had slowed their escape and allowed the pockmarked man to single them out, chasing them all the way here!
They were barely a dozen meters ahead—soon they’d be overtaken. The purple spider was already opening its enormous jaws. The small-eyed convict, on the verge of tears, wailed, “Boss, I’m sorry! It’s all my fault. I should’ve curbed my appetite and saved more points. Now, even adding our points together, we can only afford this smallest spider car…”
Ruxiang had no patience for his impending breakdown. Calmly, she pulled a candy from her digital watch and swallowed it in one bite. Then, with a lacquered, slender thumb, she lifted the safety cover on the red button atop the control lever.
“Can you do me a favor?” Ruxiang suddenly asked, turning to the small-eyed convict with a voice that was gentle, magnetic, and alluring. That faint fragrance around her grew stronger.
He nodded furiously. “Anything, anything! If you want me to throw myself at that monster and buy you time, just say the word—I’ll do it!”
Before Ruxiang could answer, he tried to leap from the passenger seat, but she kicked him back. An arrow with a crimson hawk feather was quivering in the spot he’d nearly stepped into.
“You don’t have to do anything. Just shut that chattering mouth of yours, or I’ll toss you out of the sky myself!” Ruxiang snapped, and slammed her palm down on the red button.
The pink mechanical spider shuddered violently, its joints screeching as its climbing speed abruptly surged.
“Boss, we’re already low on power compared to them, and now you’ve cranked the output to max—this is just killing the goose that lays the golden eggs—alright, alright, I’ll shut up!” The more nervous he got, the more he babbled. As he rambled on, Ruxiang shot him a murderous glare that nearly made him faint. He hurriedly clamped his mouth shut with his prison uniform, trembling into silence, but he couldn’t help but mutter, “Boss, even when you glare, you’re stunning…”
Behind them, the pockmarked man saw the beauty almost within reach, yet she showed not a trace of panic, only struggling harder to widen the distance between them. His wicked desires flared; the innate urge to conquer seized his mind.
This kind of woman was the most satisfying to break—let her resist all she wants. When the time comes, she won’t even get to beg for mercy beneath me!
“You want to outlast me? You’re not even qualified. I charged up to a full hundred thousand points—enough power to wear you down a dozen times over!” With that, the pockmarked man slammed his red button, and the purple spider’s speed surged, outpacing even Ruxiang’s.
“Running is pointless, darling. Why suffer as a convict? Be mine, and you’ll enjoy my rain of favors day and night!” His vulgar laughter rang out as he leered at her figure, but Ruxiang said nothing. The scent around her only grew thicker.
Suddenly, the pink spider halted mid-rush. A mechanical voice chimed, “It’s dance time.”
“Damn it!” The small-eyed convict cursed furiously. This was just his luck—every misfortune found him. Now they were doomed.
The pink spider released its grip on the cables with all eight limbs, but didn’t fall into the abyss. Instead, a steel wire spooled out from its belly, lowering it gently into midair. The spider began to spin slowly, its eight legs waving gracefully. From afar, it was an eerie yet beautiful sight.
But the small-eyed convict was in no mood to appreciate it. He didn’t even have the heart to cry—only despair remained.
Soon, the purple spider would pounce, and he’d have to charge the pockmarked man alone. Execution would have a ten-second countdown—he’d buy time for his boss!
“Haha! Heaven is on my side! Where will you run now, darling?” The pockmarked man cackled, saliva flying as he ogled Ruxiang like she was already his property.
Just as he was imagining how to break this proud woman tonight, his Bluetooth earpiece crackled to life. Whatever he heard froze his grin, and the purple spider screeched to a halt midair.
He sat there, motionless, silent, no longer chasing the prey a mere two meters away. Slowly, he began to weep.
His sobs grew louder, more heartbroken. He stared at his hands, his fingers twitching as if counting something.
At last, tears streaming, he threw his head back and roared, “Who the hell is Mu You?! Who killed my son?! Do you know how much this cost me?! I’ll kill you!!!”
His crazed bellow echoed through the canyon, halting every pursuit and turning all eyes his way.
When Ruxiang heard him shout Mu You’s name, her eyes lit up.
Him again!
