Volume Two: Anbei Corporation Chapter Fifteen: Experts Are Even More Impressed
Descending in the elevator, the black dog watched the youth before him. He felt as if the person in front was a volcano on the verge of eruption, ready to obliterate everything in his path.
He found it strange—a teenager, who didn’t appear to be from the underworld, yet carried such intense hostility.
As for the elevator, he had expected to waste some time finding the entrance, but aside from dealing with those outside, almost no time had been lost. Anbei Group hadn’t even concealed the entrance; it was placed openly along one side of the corridor. After all, the Anbei Group had grown so powerful that no one would dare to provoke them.
Ding.
The elevator had only two buttons, and it descended rapidly. When the doors opened, Li Yu squinted slightly. Outside, sixty or seventy men in suits were standing in formation, each wielding a weapon.
“Where did this little punk come from, thinking he can cause trouble here?” The leader at the front was surprised. He’d just received word from his brothers outside, thinking it was a new gang foolish enough to challenge them, but it turned out to be only two people.
Since when did kids become so bold?
“Where is the person you captured? Hand them over to me!” Li Yu stepped out of the elevator, speaking directly without a hint of nervousness.
The leader in the floral shirt frowned. “You’ve come to the wrong place!” Anbei Group no longer dealt in such business. Where did this reckless newcomer come from?
But even so, if someone dares break in, he’ll make sure they leave on a stretcher.
“Cut down these two!” With a wave of his hand, the men surged forward.
Li Yu said nothing more. Suddenly, he moved, charging straight into the crowd.
Like a tiger leaping into a flock of sheep, not one was able to stand against him. In the blink of an eye, six or seven men were knocked to the ground, unable to move.
“A martial artist?” The leader was shocked.
This was not just brute strength—his men weren’t ordinary, and they had weapons, yet the youth hadn’t been injured at all?
“Go, call Leopard!” the leader gritted his teeth. There weren’t many martial artists in Anbei Group, but one happened to be here now. He didn’t believe a mere teenager could be that formidable.
Even if he could defeat these men, wouldn’t he eventually tire? When faced with another martial artist, could he still win?
Li Yu had no idea what his opponents were thinking.
But Anbei Group was clearly more formidable than the black dog’s gang. Just looking at their coordinated uniforms, they were leagues beyond the scattered rabble of the other side.
The enemy was stronger, so he had to subdue them in even less time. If he dragged it out, who knew what might happen?
With this in mind, Li Yu struck faster and harder.
Soon, the ground was littered with writhing bodies. He kicked aside a fallen machete and squinted at the man still brandishing his weapon.
The leader in the floral shirt glanced around—he was the only one left standing. He swallowed hard.
“Don’t come any closer!” he barked.
“I told you, hand over the person you captured, or else…” Li Yu spoke with meaning, stepping on an arm that blocked his path.
The floral-shirted leader watched the youth’s unchanging expression. “We really haven’t caught anyone—” he started to say, but then realized: why hadn’t the men sent to call Leopard returned?
If it was Leopard’s temperament, the only thing that could delay him would be…
Moments later, the two arrived at a corner. The leader in the floral shirt thought to himself: as expected, the man he’d sent was standing at the doorway, his face alternating between pale and flushed. From inside came the sound of a man cursing and a woman sobbing.
Li Yu strode forward and kicked open the door, scanning the room.
His heart eased.
Huang Xiu was fully clothed, and the middle-aged man before her was stripped down to his underwear.
“Who—” The middle-aged man, his face marked by a savage scar, didn’t finish his sentence before he slammed hard into the wall.
The leader in the floral shirt stared in horror. Amidst the thunderous crash, he realized the youth beside him had vanished. Following the sound, he saw Li Yu pinning Leopard with his elbow, holding him immobile.
“Cough, cough!”
Leopard coughed, blood gushing from his mouth and staining the pristine wall.
Just that blow—if it had been an ordinary person, their neck would likely have snapped. Even as a master of internal force, Leopard had lost most of his fighting strength.
Who was this?
Unable to move, he glanced sideways, his mind racing: when had he ever offended such a terrifying youth?
The face was unfamiliar… No, wait! Suddenly, it seemed familiar—wasn’t this the other person in that photograph?
At that moment, he heard a trembling voice.
Huang Xiu called out, sobbing, “Brother Yu!”
So it was the other person from the photo.
He understood instantly, and terror swept over him. What had he gotten himself into?
A few days ago, he’d taken a job from an old client to “teach a lesson” to two kids. Having worked in Anbei Group for years, he hadn’t thought much of it. Using the boss’s name, he delegated the task to his men.
Though lustful, he wasn’t stupid. He always investigated first, avoiding trouble with the wrong people. As one of the few martial artists, he was valued by the boss—using the boss’s name posed no risk.
But if you walk by the river long enough, eventually you’ll get your feet wet.
Now he’d run into a steel wall—more like the deck of an aircraft carrier.
“Don’t worry, you’re safe now,” Li Yu gave her a gentle smile, easing Huang Xiu’s fear.
He crouched down and untied the ropes binding her.
“It’s all a misunderstanding!” Leopard hurried to protest.
Even with Li Yu’s back exposed, he didn’t dare to think of escaping.
To outsiders, Li Yu’s movements seemed elegant and effortless, mere spectacle. To an insider like him… all he could do was gape in awe.
That move just now—give him ten more years of training, and he still wouldn’t match it.
And Li Yu was so young. If he was already this powerful, who would believe he wasn’t backed by someone formidable?
Leopard cursed his old client bitterly, from their parents to their entire ancestry.
After a moment of comfort, Li Yu stood up. Huang Xiu, still frightened, held tightly to his sleeve.
Li Yu’s gaze was icy. “Speak. Who ordered you?”
“Well…” Leopard stammered.
It wasn’t that he didn’t want to say; this old client was elusive, never showing their face. Each payment was made in full, never once failing, so he’d never bothered to inquire about their identity.
If he made trouble and angered the client, he’d lose a generous source of income.
At that moment, a commotion erupted outside.
Li Yu turned to look. The corridor was packed, not a gap in sight. At the front stood a man in his fifties, his face kindly but shrouded in a murderous aura.
Behind him, several men stood with bulging waists.
