Chapter 116: The Primordial Essence of the Heavenly Fox Within the Meridians Is Surprisingly Violated
Bo Meng gasped in shock, never expecting Bai Shengyun to strike someone so fiercely. Yet, knowing that Shen Ruru intended to harm Xie Yingying, he felt no pity for her at all.
Severely injured and still not recovered, Shen Ruru was now dizzy and ringing in her ears from the blow. She collapsed to the ground, the world spinning before her eyes until everything went black for a few seconds.
Then she heard Bai Shengyun’s angry voice: “Who told you to lay a hand on her?”
She shook her head weakly, finally managing to focus on the scene before her. Bai Shengyun still stood protectively in front of Xie Yingying, while Bo Meng and Bai Qirui looked at him with disgust.
On the other side stood Huo Tianqing, the very person who had wounded her so deeply. She also noticed, with surprise, that Bo Meng was actually a Mist Demon.
Everything suddenly made sense.
“Are you two getting married?!” Shen Ruru blurted out anxiously.
Bai Shengyun didn’t answer, instead commanding sharply, “Take her away for punishment.”
Bahu’s eyebrows twitched before he bowed slightly and said to Bai Shengyun, “Young Emperor, I’m afraid this isn’t according to regulation?”
“Not according to regulation?” Bai Shengyun sneered coldly. “Why not? She tried to kill my rightful wife—are you blind?”
Bahu was momentarily speechless.
“Drag her down!” Bai Shengyun ordered angrily.
The guards exchanged uncertain glances.
Seeing their hesitation, Bai Shengyun turned to them with a cold tone: “I’ve only been away from the Immortal Sect for a short while, and you no longer obey me? What’s the matter? Do you need someone else to give orders?”
The guards broke out in cold sweat, their legs weakening as they knelt with a loud thud, stammering, “We dare not, we dare not!”
They hurriedly pulled Shen Ruru to her feet and began heading toward the back mountain.
Shen Ruru screamed sharply, “What do you think you’re doing? Do you want to die?!”
Startled, the guards loosened their grip.
Bai Shengyun raised an eyebrow and casually lifted her into the air. Then, with a flick of his fingers, Shen Ruru crashed down to the ground with a thundering impact.
Xie Yingying flinched in fright.
As the dust settled, Shen Ruru lay on the ground, blood trickling from her mouth, barely breathing—appearing close to death.
Bai Shengyun’s gaze was cold and detached, his hand rising as if to finish her off.
Xie Yingying’s expression softened with reluctance.
She couldn’t bear the thought of someone dying because of her—despite the harm Shen Ruru had caused. Besides, Shen Ruru’s punishment seemed sufficient already.
Gently, she reached out and tapped Bai Shengyun’s arm, whispering, “Enough.”
He clicked his tongue but eventually released the spiritual energy in his hand and turned to look at her.
At that moment, Xie Yingying suddenly felt a sharp pain throughout her body.
“Hiss…” Bai Shengyun frowned and immediately scooped her up, preparing to take her to his quarters.
“Hey? Wait—” Xie Yingying was confused. She had told him not to kill anymore, yet he was just carrying her away?
Passing by Shen Ruru, she shuddered at the sight of blood pooling behind her head.
Instinctively, she struggled weakly, afraid Bai Shengyun might do the same to her.
But Bai Shengyun held her tightly, not allowing her an inch of movement.
Helpless, she turned to look at Huo Tianqing behind them.
Huo Tianqing had already caught up and leapt in front of Bai Shengyun, blocking his path.
Bai Shengyun’s expression was grim as he said to Huo Tianqing, “If you don’t want to see her die before your eyes, then step aside.”
Xie Yingying was puzzled by his words.
But in the next moment, Huo Tianqing’s face changed, and he reluctantly moved aside.
Earlier, he had used his divine perception to probe Xie Yingying’s body and found something amiss.
Previously, when the Heavenly Fox's primal energy flared, it caused pain in her abdomen first, then stirred the primal energy within her meridians.
But this time, there was no movement in the primal energy at her dantian; instead, the primal energy in her meridians was churning on its own, moving toward her dantian.
Seeing Huo Tianqing step aside, Bai Shengyun strode forward swiftly.
At that moment, Xie Yingying’s abdomen began to ache fiercely.
Hearing her low moan, Bai Shengyun immediately used his divine perception to examine her. He discovered that the Heavenly Fox’s primal energy within her meridians was now violently attacking her Golden Core.
His brow furrowed deeply as he hastily channeled his spiritual energy, his speed increasing until he was running.
Xie Yingying looked up at the rapidly passing scenery but felt no sensation of movement or even of Bai Shengyun himself.
Her body was gradually going numb, her chest aching, though the wound no longer pained her.
Only her dantian felt as if something was persistently battering it.
She frowned, her vision suddenly darkening, and a long, sharp beep rang in her ears.
Before she could think further, she fainted.
Bai Shengyun lowered his head to check her breathing. Seeing her chest rising and falling, he was relieved—she was not dead.
As long as she lived, there was hope.
Soon, they arrived at his residence.
The two guards stationed outside had been about to salute Bai Shengyun upon his return, surprised to see him come back so suddenly, when they heard a whooshing sound by their ears.
Confused, they looked up but found Bai Shengyun had already vanished.
He kicked open the door to his sleeping chamber and hurried inside, tossing Xie Yingying onto the bed.
He quickly sat down and administered several pills to her, then produced a communication talisman. Urgently, he spoke into it: “Third Brother, come to my chambers at once, and bring the papers transcribing the ‘Ten Thousand Records.’”
The talisman vanished into thin air.
Bai Qirui, sensing something wrong when Bai Shengyun hurried away with Xie Yingying, had already arrived outside Bai Shengyun’s residence by the time he received the talisman.
Before the two guards could salute, Bai Qirui had entered the sleeping chamber.
He saw Xie Yingying unconscious and handed over the saved records to Bai Shengyun, anxiously asking, “What’s happening?!”
“Heavenly Fox’s primal energy,” Bai Shengyun said, frowning as he examined the records.
He hastily arranged a formation according to the text and began channeling spiritual energy into Xie Yingying.
This time, he had to deal simultaneously with the Heavenly Fox’s primal energy within her meridians and the primal energy battering her dantian from outside.
His divine perception probed further, and Xie Yingying suddenly furrowed her brow.
Bai Shengyun clicked his tongue in frustration.
He saw that the external Heavenly Fox primal energy was actually stirring the primal energy inside Xie Yingying’s Golden Core, causing the two to continuously clash against the Golden Core.
