Chapter 10: Tsk tsk tsk, you are all far too weak
That single sentence was enough to infuriate Di Yunshen. A dark, brooding light flared in his eyes, tinged with a faint red, and the air around them grew chilling and foreboding. This was the boundary that could not be crossed.
Suddenly, Di Yunshen let out a cold, secretive smile. He seized Su Qingli’s wrist and led her back to the villa.
“Wait here. I want to speak with him alone.”
“Ah... alright,” Su Qingli replied, not thinking much of it. She sat down to watch anime, but barely a moment passed before her phone rang.
“Hello?”
“Su Qingli, it’s Yun Shasha. Let’s meet and talk.”
Su Qingli didn’t reply immediately. Instead, she began calculating on her fingers. “Hold on, let me figure out which bastard leaked my phone number... Damn, you actually paid eight hundred thousand to hire a hacker? Next time, just give me the money!”
“You’re that short on cash?”
“So, you’re offering me money? That’s not a bad idea.”
Yun Shasha was straightforward and named her price, “Two hundred thousand.”
“No need to think it over! Send me the address!”
And so, Su Qingli willingly boarded the pirate’s ship and headed straight to the restaurant.
Meanwhile, Di Yunshen sat in a chair, breathing heavily, his right fist bloody and raw. The butler handed him some gauze. Wrapping his hand, Di Yunshen spoke coldly, “There are countless ways to deal with you. This time, consider it a warning. If you speak out of line again, I won’t hesitate to sew your mouth shut.”
“Heh... hehehe…” Di Tingxiao trembled as he pulled himself up off the floor, blood streaking from his mouth and eyes. His white shirt was stained with dirt and blood, making him look utterly wretched.
Just as Di Yunshen turned to leave, Di Tingxiao’s twisted laughter echoed behind him.
“Hahaha... Di Yunshen, do you think you’ve won? That girl, she’s gone to meet Yun Shasha! There are eighty mercenaries there. Forget her—even you might not make it out alive!”
Di Yunshen’s heart clenched violently. His brow furrowed as he grabbed Di Tingxiao by the collar. “Where is she? Where?”
Di Tingxiao laughed maniacally.
“If anything happens to Su Qingli, you and your mother will wish for death in this lifetime. I hear your mother remarried and had a daughter? Better keep her hidden, or I’ll find her.”
With that, Di Yunshen threw him aside with brutal force.
Di Tingxiao’s face turned deathly pale.
He never expected Di Yunshen to already know about this! Clenching his teeth, he spat, “They’re at the Three Restaurants.”
Di Yunshen shot him a cold glance and strode out.
...
At the Three Restaurants, Su Qingli was having more fun than anyone, standing atop two mercenaries stacked beneath her. She raised her chin toward Yun Shasha on the opposite side.
“That’s all you’ve got? No wonder Di Yunshen isn’t interested in you. Tsk, I’m not either. Pathetic.”
“Su Qingli! I hate you! I want you dead!”
“Come on, if you have the guts, kill me.” Su Qingli clapped her hands, taunting.
Behind Yun Shasha stood at least fifty mercenaries—all given to her by Di Tingxiao. The plan was to capture Su Qingli alive and hand her over, but now Yun Shasha had changed her mind.
“Kill her! What are you waiting for? If anything happens, I’ll take the blame. All of you, attack!”
Su Qingli took a step forward, sinking her center of gravity, both hands poised. Beneath her feet, an invisible Eight Trigrams formation spread out; she was the eye of the array, and Yun Shasha’s position was the Gate of Death.
Within this formation, unless she encountered someone of equal skill—like her senior brother—she could defeat anyone, even with her eyes closed.
Like a streak of black lightning, Su Qingli swept through the crowd, leaving chaos in her wake.
No one could withstand more than five moves of her Tai Chi.
One by one, the fifty men fell—some injured, some downed—yet Yun Shasha’s hatred only burned brighter as she glared at Su Qingli.
Gripping a dagger herself, Yun Shasha lunged at Su Qingli.
Su Qingli remained calm and still, not even bothering to dodge.
Suddenly, the screech of brakes sounded from the roadside. Di Yunshen sprinted toward them. “Li’er! Get out of the way!”
He wished desperately to be by Su Qingli’s side, but could only watch helplessly from a distance.
Just as the dagger was about to pierce Su Qingli’s skull, Yun Shasha froze.
The blade clattered to the ground, falling short by a fist’s length.
Yun Shasha coughed, her face ashen, a trickle of blood at her lips, and then she collapsed, gasping for breath.
Su Qingli sighed and shook her head. “Other than the Qi Clan, no one escapes the Gate of Death.”
Indeed, in this world, only the three of their master’s disciples could break free from that gate.
“Li’er!”
Di Yunshen gathered Su Qingli into his arms. She could feel his tension, the anxiety coiled tight within him.
“Di Yunshen, were you worried about me?”
After a brief pause, he replied, “Yes.”
“You’d better get them to a hospital soon, or they won’t survive much longer.”
“So be it if they die.”
Su Qingli bristled instantly. “Hey! I can beat them up, but I can’t kill them! My life is short as it is—if I carry all these deaths on my conscience, you’re really trying to send me to the grave early!”
Though Di Yunshen was reluctant, since Su Qingli insisted, he would do as she asked.
“In the future, remember to consult the divinations before you go out.”
“I did!”
“Then why did you still come?”
“I didn’t want to, but she offered me money.”
Di Yunshen looked speechlessly at the bank card in her hand. Still, he felt reassured—Su Qingli clearly had the ability to protect herself.
“I’ll have Shen Ci transfer two hundred million into your account later. Wherever you go, let me know first.”
“Alright!!”
Mentioning money instantly revitalized Su Qingli.
“Let’s go home.”
“Wait!”
“What is it?”
Su Qingli climbed into the car. “I just did a reading—someone’s waiting for me at your company. Let’s go there directly.”
Di Yunshen nodded. “Drive.”
The driver, thoroughly baffled by the conversation, could only obey.
“Di Yunshen, my reading also says someone’s coming to see me for a blind date the day after tomorrow—last name Bai, I think?”
