Chapter 8: The Conditions
Chapter Eight: Conditions
Dr. Liu led Qin Yu into a room where, at a glance, Qin Yu saw a young girl lying on the bed, about the same age as Qin Mianmian. One of the girl's legs was exposed, and from the wound, pus and blood oozed visibly, carrying a foul odor that made one uncomfortable. Qin Yu's expression changed slightly as he hurried to the girl's side.
After a simple pulse check, Qin Yu determined that the girl was suffering from a venous thrombosis.
He looked at Dr. Liu and asked, “Has she been like this for the past three months?”
“Of course not,” Dr. Liu quickly wiped the sweat from his forehead and said hurriedly, “At first, the girl’s legs were numb. I tried acupuncture for over two months, but nothing worked. Then, by chance, her leg was injured, and the wound simply wouldn’t heal.”
Dr. Liu glanced at the wound and continued, “All I could do was use silver needles to stop the bleeding. As for anything else, no matter what I tried, I couldn’t stop the condition from worsening.”
Qin Yu nodded; it was just as he had suspected.
He took out his silver needles and inserted them directly into the girl’s leg, but she showed no reaction. Feeling her forehead, Qin Yu found she was feverish and immediately instructed, “Prepare hot water and warm towels.”
He then took out another silver needle and inserted it into her body.
Cold sweat broke out all over the girl, and as it did, her temperature gradually returned to normal.
This time, Qin Yu took out seven silver needles and placed them on her foot. He noticed that her little toe twitched slightly—clearly, the veins in her lower body were not completely blocked.
Having found an entry point, Qin Yu breathed a sigh of relief and began to carefully clear the veins with his silver needles.
When he reached the wound, he stopped and sealed off all the surrounding meridians.
He continued the treatment.
Watching Qin Yu’s practiced technique, the old man nearby looked at Dr. Liu with some confusion and asked, “Dr. Liu, who is this gentleman?”
“I’m no miracle doctor,” Dr. Liu said quickly, “Compared to him, I’m nothing. Only my master could perhaps match his skill.”
As they spoke, Qin Yu had already inserted all the silver needles into the acupuncture points.
He wiped the sweat from his forehead and withdrew the needles around the wound. This time, the wound did not ooze pus.
“Dr. Liu, please clean the patient’s wound thoroughly,” Qin Yu instructed.
Dr. Liu immediately began to do so.
Meanwhile, Qin Yu placed silver needles on the girl’s perineum and philtrum.
Suddenly, the girl, who had been unconscious, began to cough.
“She’s awake! It’s a miracle! A miracle!” the old man cried out in excitement, nearly falling to his knees before Qin Yu.
Qin Yu hurriedly helped him up with a smile. “Sir, it’s not over yet—there’s no need for this.”
“Big brother, will my leg ever get better?” the girl asked, still weak, looking at Qin Yu.
“Don’t worry, as long as I’m here, you’ll be fine,” Qin Yu replied, gently ruffling her hair.
Dr. Liu had finished cleaning the pus and blood from the wound. Qin Yu bandaged it simply with gauze, then turned to the girl. “You might feel a lot of pain soon, but you must bear it and not move, no matter what.”
The girl nodded.
Qin Yu took out a silver needle and inserted it into an acupuncture point on her leg.
“Aaah!” the girl screamed in pain, but soon passed out.
Seeing this, the old man’s heart ached, but hope filled him nonetheless—his granddaughter could now feel pain in her leg, something she hadn’t before.
Although Qin Yu’s cultivation was high, such an exhausting treatment took a toll even on him. Wiping the sweat from his brow, he stood up and said to the old man with a smile, “The treatment is done. Now you just need to let the wound heal slowly.”
The old man’s eyes filled with tears, and he tried to kneel again in gratitude.
Qin Yu quickly stopped him, unwilling to accept such a gesture.
Suddenly, the old man seemed to remember something and said anxiously, “Please, both of you, keep my granddaughter’s situation a secret. I beg your pardon for this unreasonable request.”
Qin Yu and Dr. Liu exchanged a glance. Keeping a patient’s condition confidential was a doctor’s duty, so they smiled and nodded in agreement.
“Thank you both,” the old man said gratefully.
Qin Yu and Dr. Liu left the building and got into the car.
“Sir, you are truly remarkable,” Dr. Liu said in awe. “Even someone paralyzed from the waist down could be healed by you.”
“This was a venous thrombosis—it’s very troublesome to treat. But this illness rarely occurs in children, mostly in the elderly. Clearly, someone has been harming this child. Judging by the old man’s demeanor, he likely knows as much,” Qin Yu replied indifferently, uninterested in the affairs of others.
Dr. Liu hesitated a moment before taking out a check and handing it to Qin Yu.
“What’s this?” Qin Yu asked.
“This is the Qian family’s consultation fee—five hundred thousand. I treated her for three months with no result, so I can’t accept this money.”
A consultation fee of five hundred thousand—the Qian family must be incredibly wealthy.
That thought crossed Qin Yu’s mind, but he did not take the money. He smiled and said, “I can’t accept this. I was only here to help. I don’t lack money—keep it.”
As they argued, Qin Yu’s phone rang.
“Qin Yu, my grandfather can get out of bed and walk now! He wants to see you. Where are you? I’ll come pick you up,” Sun Qian’s voice was filled with excitement.
Qin Yu sighed inwardly. He could guess why the old man wanted to see him.
“All right, come pick me up at the hotel. I’ll bring Mianmian—she’s been cooped up in the hotel for two days and is restless.”
After hanging up, Dr. Zhang drove Qin Yu back to the hotel before leaving.
When Qin Yu returned to his room, he saw the two assassins still standing exactly where they had been.
“Aren’t you two tired? You’ve been standing for a whole day and night. Do you still want to keep at it?” Qin Yu asked with a smile.
The two men only glared at him with murderous eyes, refusing to speak.
“You have backbone,” Qin Yu said, turning to leave. He took Qin Mianmian and walked outside the hotel.
Just then, Sun Qian’s car pulled up.
Seeing Qin Yu, Sun Qian hurried out and said, “Thank you. If it weren’t for you, who knows when my grandfather would have recovered. Last time you left so quickly, I didn’t have the chance to thank you.”
“No need for thanks. You’ve looked after Mianmian all this time—I should be the one thanking you. Let’s go see your grandfather,” Qin Yu replied, fully prepared for what was to come.
