Chapter Four: Rescuing His Sister

Qin Yu carried Qin Mianmian in his arms, drawing strange looks from the hotel staff as he checked into a room. He gently laid her on the bed and took her pulse. The moment his fingers touched her wrist, a murderous intent flashed in his eyes.

Her body was frail to the extreme, her immunity compromised by malnutrition, and there were early signs of kidney failure—a consequence of working as a hostess at the nightclub. Without hesitation, Qin Yu took out his silver needles.

He targeted acupoints: Celestial Pool, Hundred Meetings, Gate of Yin... Seven needles in all. As the last one settled, Qin Yu saw color returning to Mianmian’s cheeks.

Tears slid down her face as she gazed up at him. After years adrift in the world, she had always been alone and helpless. Qin Yu, before her now, was not only her only family but her sole dependence.

“Big Brother...” she called softly.

Qin Yu clasped her hand, brushed her forehead, and smiled. “Rest here for a while. I’ll go buy some herbs and brew you a medicinal decoction.”

“Hurry back, please. I’m scared...” Mianmian whispered.

He nodded with a smile and left the hotel.

But Qin Yu had barely gone when Li Xiong arrived with a group of men. With the Li family’s influence in Haishi, tracking someone down was child’s play, especially since Qin Yu hadn’t tried to conceal his movements.

Under Li Xiong’s threats, the hotel receptionist revealed their room number. The group gathered outside the door.

Li Xiong gritted his teeth. “The family head said, ‘Two fists can’t beat four hands.’ Don’t be afraid. Once we’re in, everyone attack together—we’ll overwhelm Qin Yu. With our numbers, what’s there to fear?”

His words sounded bold, but everyone saw his trembling legs.

Meanwhile, anxious for his sister, Qin Yu bought herbs in haste and hurried back. Passing a deserted alley, he heard a faint cry for help.

Curious, he approached and found a middle-aged man lying in a pool of blood. The man, seeing Qin Yu, stretched out a trembling hand. “Young man... Help... me...”

With those words, his strength failed, and his hand dropped.

Qin Yu swiftly took out his silver needles and pricked several key points.

Examining the man, he saw multiple knife wounds, each to the bone—whoever did this had meant to kill. Soon the bleeding stopped. Qin Yu called for an ambulance, then slipped away.

When Qin Yu returned to the hotel, the receptionist recognized him at once and hurried over, excitedly holding out a note. “Mr. Qin, please wait! Someone asked me to give you this. He said he’s taken your sister.”

The word “taken” made Qin Yu’s eyes flash with icy light.

The staff, just ordinary people, had never seen such an aura. Startled, the receptionist staggered back and fell.

Realizing his loss of composure, Qin Yu retrieved the note and offered an apologetic smile before heading to his room.

He opened the note. It read:

If you want to save your sister, come to the abandoned factory in the north of the city. —Li Xiong

A cold glint filled Qin Yu’s eyes as he tore the note to shreds.

“Since you’re courting death, I’ll grant your wish.”

Without hesitation, he rushed out.

The moment he stepped into the corridor, he collided with a woman, knocking her to the ground.

Qin Yu quickly offered a hand. “Sorry, I didn’t see you. Are you all right?”

But as his hand touched her wrist, his expression changed. He sensed a latent illness within her—a condition well hidden, not yet manifesting symptoms.

Right now, though, his mind was wholly on his sister. He had no time to worry about a stranger’s health.

As he turned to leave, the woman chased after him, pointing at his nose and cursing, “What kind of person are you? You knock someone down and think helping them up is enough? How rude!”

“You’re not hurt, are you? I have something urgent to do. If you’re unwell, wait here and I’ll be back.”

“How dare you talk like that? If anyone’s unwell, it’s you—and your whole family, too!”

Qin Yu had no patience for her and strode into the elevator, heading downstairs.

Abandoned factory, north of the city.

By the time Qin Yu arrived, night had fallen. As he neared the factory, a group of men emerged.

“So you’re Qin Yu. They say you’re formidable. Let’s see just how tough you are,” the leader sneered, and they all charged at him.

Qin Yu had no intention of fighting them. Instead, he flicked his silver needles. As they struck, each man’s limbs went weak. Helpless, they collapsed, forced to watch as Qin Yu stepped over their bodies.

He pushed open the factory door.

There lay Qin Mianmian on the ground, surrounded by black-clad men.

Li Xiong strode out, laughing triumphantly. He looked Qin Yu up and down. “Qin Yu, aren’t you supposed to be so powerful? I’ve prepared thirty men for you. Two fists can’t best four hands. If you kneel and beg, I’ll let her go. Otherwise—” He glanced lasciviously at the unconscious Mianmian. “This girl’s pretty enough. Send her back to the nightclub, and when she’s no use, we can sell her organs. Not a bad profit.”

“Oh? A clever idea,” Qin Yu replied coldly, a chilling smile on his lips.

Li Xiong turned to him, only to realize with horror that Qin Yu had somehow closed the distance. The thirty men he’d brought lay in heaps.

“How... How did you do this?”

“You can ask the King of Hell yourself.”

With a flick of his wrist, Qin Yu sent Li Xiong’s head tumbling to the ground. Dissatisfied, he kicked the body aside for good measure.

“Big Brother...”

Mianmian’s weak voice reached his ears.

Qin Yu hurried over and checked her condition, finally relaxing—it was only a sedative.

He gathered her into his arms and swiftly returned to the hotel.

There, to his surprise, the woman from earlier was waiting at his door.

“You’re still here?” he asked.

She ignored him, her gaze fixed on the unconscious Mianmian in his arms.

“You scoundrel! What have you done to her? You beast, let go of her right now!”
