Chapter 61: Who is Charles!
Run! She must run!
Yu Jin’s mind was occupied by only one thought: she must not let him catch her!
Dongfang She suddenly curved his lips into an upward arc as mesmerizing as a shooting star slicing through the dark night. "Why did you lie to me?"
His voice was as flippant as ever, yet an invisible, oppressive force weighed down on Yu Jin. She felt as if a hand were tightly gripping her throat, making it difficult even to breathe.
"It’s not like that... Back then..." Yu Jin closed her eyes in anguish. She had thought he might let her go, had even foolishly believed he felt a shred of affection for her. But the ruthlessness in his eyes just now—the merciless conviction that he would rather execute a thousand innocents than let a single guilty person escape—filled her with dread.
"Yu Jin, I never expected you to hide things so deeply!" Dongfang She interrupted, his tongue lightly pressing against the corner of his mouth while his eyes curled into a bewitching, dangerous arc.
Flustered and panicked, Yu Jin scrambled blindly. She no longer knew what to do!
Explain! Hurry up and explain! Otherwise, Dongfang She is going to tear you apart!
Yu Jin swallowed nervously, watching as Dongfang She began to gracefully untie his cuffs and slowly roll up his sleeves.
That unhurried motion was a slow torture to her soul!
She would rather he be brutal and put a bullet straight through her head than subject her to this: wielding a sharp blade to carve out her heart, piece by agonizing piece.
This sensation was excruciatingly painful. Yu Jin’s face turned deathly pale, cold sweat beaded incessantly on her forehead, and the back of her pajamas was already drenched!
"I can explain! I really didn't mean to! I'm sorry!"
Yu Jin felt her teeth chattering. What should she do? Dongfang She had gone dark-side; he was terrifying!
Dongfang She let out a mocking laugh, his gaze suddenly turning as sharp as a blade. He reached out and grabbed her chin with a force that was definitely not flirtatious!
"Speak! Why did you lie to me?!" Dongfang She forced her to meet his eyes, his icy-green pupils blazing with fury.
A sharp pain shot from her chin. Yu Jin closed her eyes and hardened her heart. "Back then, I only did it to protect myself!"
"To protect yourself, you could just casually sleep with another man? Is that how you went behind my back, flirting and making eyes at other men?"
Dongfang She violently shoved her face away. A violent impulse to strike her crossed his mind, but he managed to control it.
Yu Jin froze. A man?
What man?
What flirting and making eyes?
Weren't they talking about their son?
Realizing it belatedly, Yu Jin discovered that their trains of thought had been on entirely different tracks, yet they had somehow nearly started a war over it!
"What is Charles to you?" Dongfang She asked, consumed by a rage that made him want to tear apart every single man she had ever crossed paths with.
Yu Jin let out a heavy sigh, composed her emotions, and opened her eyes. "You've got it all wrong. Charles is just my... landlord! Yes, a landlord!"
Damn it!
A landlord?
What is this? A late-night lonely hook-up story between a male landlord and a female tenant?
Furious beyond measure, Dongfang She yanked her up abruptly and crushed his lips against hers!
The roughness of the action could hardly be called a kiss; it was more like a savage biting. Yu Jin felt a sharp pain on her lips, followed immediately by the taste of blood mixed with his scent flooding her nasal cavity. She struggled to push him away, but the man only tightened his grip. His tongue invaded aggressively, fierce and torrential, as if he vowed to devour her bones and flesh alike.
He entangled his tongue with hers, sweeping across every inch of her territory. Their mixed breaths filled her mouth. Yu Jin fought desperately to shove him back, but he stood like a wall of bronze and iron, completely immovable.
