Chapter 46: Lover (Part Seven)

Su Kui bit her lower lip, spun around, and dashed out of the bathroom, tossing back a single sentence: "Take your time, I'm heading out."

Amidst Song Cheng's incredulous gaze, the frosted glass door slammed shut heavily.

The moment she stepped out of the bathroom, Su Kui could no longer maintain her calm expression. The corners of her lips stretched wider and wider until, unable to contain it any longer, she rushed out of the bedroom, burying her face in her hands in silent, ecstatic laughter.

That's right! It was him!

That sensation—like two incomplete souls reuniting, deeply and irresistibly drawn to one another—was back.

Su Kui truly never expected to see him again. Although he had lost all memories of their past lives, this alone was already an immense, wondrous surprise.

Forgotten her? So what! She was entirely confident she could make him fall in love with her all over again!

After laughing for a good while, Su Kui adjusted her state of mind, returned to the bedroom, swiftly changed into her pajamas, closed her eyes, and lay down.

Back in the bathroom—

Damn it!

Song Cheng cursed under his breath. This woman was really getting too bold; how dare she reject him!

Especially upon stepping out of the bathroom and immediately catching sight of the woman lying sideways on the snow-white king-sized bed, apparently fast asleep and dreaming sweetly.

In an instant, the suffocating frustration in Song Cheng's chest transformed into towering rage, accompanied by an impulse to shake the sleeping woman awake. In fact, he actually did it, walking step by step toward the large bed and coming to a halt at the bedside.

Yet, somehow, he found himself unable to reach out his hand, reluctant to make even the slightest noise, wanting only to quietly gaze at her.

He must be utterly out of his mind!

Song Cheng irritably raked his fingers through his hair, snatched a pre-cut cigar from the nightstand, lit it, and took a fierce drag.

Through the swirling smoke, the woman's makeup-free face looked serene and tranquil. Her curled eyelashes cast delicate shadows like tiny fans beneath her eyes, her dainty nostrils twitched slightly, and her rosy lips were parted just a bit, as if her breathing wasn't entirely smooth.

Her long, jet-black, wavy hair spread across the pillow like sea kelp. The entire person looked as breathtakingly beautiful as an otherworldly sprite.

A sprite—

Song Cheng let out a low, mocking chuckle. Tang Wan was acting abnormal today, and had that made him abnormal too? A kept woman—how could she possibly deserve to be called a sprite!
