Chapter 3: The Crippled Young Lady (Part III)

Watching coldly as the two sobbing maids, their arms twisted behind their backs, were dragged out of the room, Su Kui let out a slow yawn. A crystalline tear hung precariously from her eyelashes, neither falling nor vanishing, making her look incredibly pitiable.

The original owner of this body had gone out for an excursion with Feng Qingqing a few days ago, only to run into several of her arch-rivals on the road. Naturally, those young ladies subjected her to a barrage of icy sarcasm and insults.

Feng Yanran, possessed of a volatile and irritable temper, had become embroiled in a confrontation that ended with her and her wheelchair tumbling into the lotus pond. By the time she was fished out, she was already at death’s door. Perhaps it was the intensity of her resentment and obsession that had paved the way for Su Kui’s arrival.

Seeing Su Kui yawn with such a delicate, endearing expression, Nanny Gu felt her heart melt instantly. Her wrinkled, aged face blossomed into a smile like a withered chrysanthemum. In the eyes of outsiders, Feng Yanran might have been an incorrigible little demoness with an unpredictable and cold-blooded nature, but to the nanny who had raised her since childhood, she was perfect in every way.

Nanny Gu looked up at the sky outside the window and said kindly, "Young Mistress, you have just woken up and your body is still weak. Would you like to lie down a while longer?"

Having just recovered and caused such a scene, Su Kui was indeed exhausted. Furthermore, she had not yet decided how to face Nanny Gu, who treated her with such genuine affection. She nodded along with the suggestion, saying, "Very well." Then, as if something had just occurred to her, her expression shifted drastically. She spoke to Nanny Gu with a fierce edge, "Make sure those two treacherous maids are punished severely! I must let them know that I am not someone to be trifled with!"

Nanny Gu nodded hastily, offering comfort, "Do not fret, Young Mistress. I shall go report this to the Old Madam immediately; we will surely punish those two wretched wenches as they deserve."

She tucked the quilt around Su Kui once more before hurrying away.

Silence descended upon the room.

Su Kui lowered her eyes, deep in thought. To change Feng Yanran’s fate, especially with a body that could not walk, would be incredibly difficult. Moreover, in this world, simply choosing not to court disaster was no guarantee of escaping the fate of being mere cannon fodder.

The structure of this world was primarily built around the male lead, Emperor Yuan Chen of the Great Yuan Dynasty, and the female lead, Feng Qingqing. Everyone else, including her, were merely insignificant supporting characters—cannon fodder.

Since that was the case, how could Su Kui dream of straying from the main plotline?

Truthfully, there were only two paths before her:
First: Accept her fate as cannon fodder.
Second: Turn the tables on the male and female leads, rise up to become the queen, and throw this world into chaos!

Of course, in order to earn the exchange points she so desperately needed, Su Kui had no choice but to push forward with all her might. After all, the most infuriating thing about the system was that the items in the shop were devilishly expensive. To exchange for the resurrection potion she dreamed of, she needed one hundred million points!

Having organized her goals in her mind, Su Kui let out a slow sigh. It was truly a long and arduous journey ahead. Changing Feng Yanran’s fate was not hard, but living a cowardly, survivalist existence was simply not in Su Kui’s nature.

She had to protect not only herself but also Nanny Gu and the Old Madam of the Feng family, who cared for her so deeply.

However, if she could just secure a powerful patron, all these problems would be solved with ease. Su Kui’s only "cheat" was her knowledge of the world’s general trajectory. As luck would have it, the story was still three months away from beginning. The male and female leads had not yet met, and the power behind the Great Yuan Dynasty still rested in the hands of the Regent, Jun Mo.

If she could climb such a towering tree...

Su Kui tapped her pale pink lips with a slender finger, a playful smile gracing her features. As the only hidden boss in the story capable of rivaling the male lead, her confidence in this plan could not be higher.

Everyone, take a guess—who do you think the male lead will be? La-la-la!
