Xie Bo carried Lin Yiwei back to the apartment, with Li Du following along.
He was the only person besides Lin Yiwei allowed into the Ramon apartment.
Lin Yiwei sat by the sofa, her emotions gradually calming as she discreetly observed Li Du.
At first, she thought he was just Xie Bo’s lackey, much like Yun Hui was to Chi Xicheng.
But after watching him, she realized that wasn’t the case. Li Du moved freely in Xie Bo’s home—he could lie on his sofa, rummage through his fridge, read his magazines, and play his game console.
Yun Hui was always nervous and cautious in front of Chi Xicheng, afraid even to step left when told to go right.
But Li Du... seemed more like Xie Bo’s friend.
When he got hungry, he pulled out a can of Coke from Xie Bo’s fridge and took a long gulp.
Xie Bo noticed he only took one for himself and muttered, “Get one for the guest too.”
“Guest? Where’s the guest?” Li Du teased, “I only see someone’s girlfriend here.”
As Xie Bo was about to throw a magazine at him, Lin Yiwei hurriedly defended, “I’m not his girlfriend.”
Xie Bo rolled up the magazine, giving her a displeased glare, “Quit imagining things. Who told you that?”
Lin Yiwei pressed her lips together.
Li Du grabbed a cold Coke and handed it to her; Xie Bo reached out, popped the tab with his long finger, took a sip, then passed it to her.
Parched, Lin Yiwei didn’t refuse, gulping it down and letting out a small burp from the bubbles.
Xie Bo smiled faintly.
Li Du watched the subtle interaction between them, sensing a deep connection.
He found it strange—Xie Bo’s only known female companion was supposed to be Ye Anning. So where had Lin Yiwei suddenly come from?
Moreover, she had been taken from Chi Xicheng’s grasp.
If it were Ye Anning or even Chi Xiyu, Xie Bo might not have acted like this—rushing wildly to rescue someone as soon as he woke up, before even removing his bandages.
“So, what’s your relationship?” Li Du sat on a high stool, curious.
“I’m not his girlfriend, and I haven’t pursued him,” Lin Yiwei explained calmly.
“I know you haven’t. None of those who liked Young Master Bo were as... wilful as you.”
Her attitude toward Xie Bo seemed indifferent, almost aloof.
“Could you two be long-lost siblings?” he guessed wildly.
Xie Bo ignored Li Du’s teasing, taking his Coke to the kitchen island and picking up his tablet to check racing news.
Lin Yiwei answered honestly, “No, we’re not siblings.”
“Well, I’m really curious.” Li Du persisted, “Miss Lin, satisfy my curiosity.”
“We’re not related.”
“I don’t believe you.”
“Why don’t you ask Xie Bo yourself?”
“Look at his expression. Does he even want to acknowledge us?”
Lin Yiwei couldn’t help but laugh.
Those close to Xie Bo seemed easy to get along with; he wasn’t as ruthless and terrifying as the rumors said.
At least, Lin Yiwei wasn’t afraid of him now.
Nor was Li Du.
The sound of running water came from the bathroom. Xie Bo looked at Li Du, “You should go.”
“Hey, what’s this? Use me and then kick me out? That’s too much! I risked coming with you today to brave the lion’s den. Aren’t you grateful?”
“I didn’t ask you to come. You insisted.” Xie Bo’s eyelids drooped as he put down the tablet.
“I was worried about you!”
“Well, what else did you want to do?”
Li Du rolled on the plush leather sofa, “How about giving me a massage?”
“Fine.” Xie Bo smirked coldly and stepped forward, lifting his foot to kick him.
Li Du dodged swiftly, flipping upright, “Alright, alright, I’m going! Rough man, no appreciation for delicate things.”
Lin Yiwei burst out laughing at their antics.
As he left, Li Du handed Lin Yiwei a business card, “Since you’re with Young Master Bo, if trouble ever comes, come to the DS Club. It’s absolutely safe—no one dares cause trouble there. If you have nowhere to stay, they have rooms.”
Lin Yiwei accepted the card quietly, murmuring thanks.
Li Du looked at her meaningfully, “The moment he woke up, barely able to walk, he rushed to find you...”

“You talk too much,” Xie Bo interrupted impatiently.
After Li Du left and the door closed, Xie Bo lost all restraint. Grabbing Lin Yiwei’s wrist, he pulled her into the bathroom and casually removed the jacket draped over her, revealing her fair, delicate shoulders.
Lin Yiwei’s top had been torn by Chi Xicheng; without the jacket to cover her, large patches of skin were exposed to his gaze.
She hugged herself in panic, trying to cover up.
“Xie Bo, go out! I... I need to shower.”
“Let me see.”
“What do you want to see?”
Since she was already scantily clad and tattered, Xie Bo didn’t hesitate to tear more.
With a rustle, Lin Yiwei felt a chill on her back as his cold eyes landed on her pale, slender back.
Around her beautiful shoulder blades were marks from a whip—bruises, red welts... a horrifying sight.
In that instant, Xie Bo felt as if his heart was being shattered.
He tightly clenched her torn clothes.
Just now, he truly should have strangled Chi Xicheng.
Lin Yiwei faced the wall, hugging herself, her slender shoulders curled, eyes filled with humiliation and tears, “You can mock me; after all, this is all my own doing.”
Xie Bo’s throat was dry and scratchy; his voice like crushed dry branches, “Anything else?”
Lin Yiwei bit her lip, “No.”
Chi Xicheng had whipped her fiercely, wanting to hear her cry, to see her kneel and beg...
But Lin Yiwei did not give him that satisfaction.
Facing such a pervert, tears only fuel his savagery.
“Honestly, did he or did he not?”
Lin Yiwei said with humiliation, “In your eyes, I’m less than an object. Used and then disgusting. That’s what you think of me, isn’t it? You filthy scum...”
The next second, Xie Bo grabbed her jaw and pulled her close, “Lin Yiwei, remember, I hate that word.”
So close, she could feel the icy chill in his eyes—
“If I hear you say that about yourself again, I’ll tear your mouth apart.”
“...”
Filled with anger, Xie Bo left the bathroom. Lin Yiwei stood at the door for a moment; he seemed to have gone out.
That last threat was both terrifying and... somewhat amusing.
She looked at the bathtub filled with steaming hot water, mist swirling. She stripped, stepped into the bath, and soaked comfortably.
Closing her eyes, she tried to erase the dreadful memory.
Xie Bo lay in bed for two days; Lin Yiwei hid away for two days. That day, she saw Chi Xicheng’s car outside the milk tea shop.
A bad feeling gripped her; she slipped back inside through the crowd and escaped through the back door.
For those two days, she didn’t dare return to school, knowing the demon was searching everywhere for her. She didn’t even go to convenience stores but stayed in a hotel with some savings.
Until the counselor called, urging her to return immediately to sign paperwork for a scholarship, Lin Yiwei had no choice but to go back, wearing a hat and mask, afraid of being recognized.
Yet, as she left school, Chi Xicheng’s men blocked her path, dragging her to the Baiyin Club. This happened just an hour before Xie Bo woke up. Chi Xicheng didn’t have time to do much to her; he only vented his anger by whipping her a few times.
...
Wrapped in a towel, Lin Yiwei stepped out and saw Xie Bo sitting on the sofa with a dark expression.
Startled, she quickly retreated to the bathroom.
Hadn’t he gone out?
She rummaged through the bathroom cabinet and found a black flannel robe, probably his. Without hesitation, she put it on.
Emerging again, she saw Xie Bo place a glass of warm water on the kitchen island, sliding a white pill gently toward her.
“What’s this?” she asked warily.
“48-hour emergency contraceptive,” Xie Bo said flatly. “Take it.”
Only then did Lin Yiwei realize he must have gone downstairs to buy it.
Seeing her hesitate, Xie Bo held the pill up to her mouth and fed it to her, “If you don’t take it now and something happens, you’ll suffer.”
Lin Yiwei held the pill in her mouth, “Have you fed this to any other girl?”
“No.” Xie Bo expressionless, handed her the glass, helping her drink slowly. “I’m not a beast.”
After taking it, Lin Yiwei shrugged lightly, “He didn’t do anything. I hid for two days, so he couldn’t find me. If it weren’t for the counselor’s call, I...”
Xie Bo was speechless.

He sighed in relief but thought about how readily she had swallowed the pill.
He poked his finger into her mouth, searching for the pill, “Did you take it?”
“Yes.”
“But nothing happened, right?”
“We already bought it. It’s expensive!”
Xie Bo was so exasperated he had no words. He dragged her to the bathroom, pressed her head toward the toilet, and reached in to gag her—
“I’ve never met a dumber pig than you.”
“Ah! Ugh!” Lin Yiwei retched as his finger prodded her throat, actually bringing the pill back up.
Xie Bo confirmed it was the white pill, then gave up. He roughly tossed her hair aside and turned on the tap to wash his hands.
Lin Yiwei held her chest, coughing, her head pounding, tears and snot streaming down.
He wrung out a towel and roughly wiped her face, “Are you a pig? You can’t just take medicine randomly.”
“I took it before the college entrance exam. It just delays your period, no side effects.”
“Who told you it has no side effects?”
“My old deskmate,” Lin Yiwei said casually, “Said exam students could take one to avoid menstrual issues affecting performance.”
Xie Bo thought her common sense was shockingly weak, foolish to an unimaginable degree.
“Doesn’t anyone take care of you?”
“If someone did, would I be standing here in front of you?” Lin Yiwei rolled her eyes, washed her face, and left the bathroom.
Xie Bo followed, leaning against the doorframe, watching her, “Pig, I’ll take care of you from now on.”
Lin Yiwei paused for a moment, then looked back, “Xie Bo, if Chi Xicheng did something to me, would you stop protecting me?”
That question instantly angered Xie Bo.
His eyes flared with irritation, “So, what do you want?”
“Nothing,” she shrugged indifferently, sitting on the sofa. “Just saying.”
Xie Bo was infuriated by her nonchalance, grabbed her wrist, and roughly dragged her to the bedroom, throwing her onto the big bed.
Lin Yiwei backed away, pressed against the padded headboard, looking at him in panic.
“Don’t know who it was just now, too scared to stand.” Xie Bo’s eyes mocked, “You just barely escaped danger and are already scheming to get rid of me. Lin Yiwei, how much do I annoy you?”
Lin Yiwei clenched her teeth, saying nothing.
Indeed, in her most helpless moments, Xie Bo was her lifeline to clutch desperately.
But thinking of Lin Xie, Lin Yiwei had no choice but to refuse.
Still, when he said he would take care of her...
There was a fleeting moment of affection.
“Xie Bo, this is who I am. When I use you, I won’t hesitate.” She looked straight into his dark eyes, braving the pain, speaking slowly, “You’re the one... who’s pathetic.”
Xie Bo’s anger almost brimmed over; breathing her breath so close, he wanted to bite her alive.
Lin Yiwei closed her eyes and turned her head.
After calming for a few minutes, Xie Bo turned and left the room, slamming the door hard.
He wouldn’t touch her if she didn’t say yes.
...
That night, Lin Yiwei slept soundly.
Though Chi Xicheng’s face still haunted her like a nightmare, Xie Bo’s bed, his scent... brought her some comfort.
Early the next morning, Xie Bo rudely shoved her awake.
Half-asleep, she opened her eyes to see him wearing only black boxer briefs, revealing well-defined abs and a perfect V-line.
Lin Yiwei was stunned for a moment, unexpectedly stirred.
He threatened her, forced her, tempted her... all to no avail.
But maybe seduction might work.
Her fox-like eyes fixated on his abs, unable to look away. “W-what are you doing?”
Xie Bo held his phone, talking to Li Du, while with his other hand, he lifted her up like a kitten—
“Chi Xiyu is here.”
