Chapter 8: The Truth of the Curse!
Wu Tianzhen had only been speaking offhandedly, but he hadn't expected Wu Yu to actually walk over, which immediately made him anxious.
However, in the next second, seeing that Wu Yu was completely unaffected, he was left stunned.
"You... you can ignore the interference of the illusion just like Brother Zhang?"
"Maybe it's lost its effectiveness. Why don't you come and try?" Wu Yu walked up to the two corpses and smiled.
"Hey! If you say try, then I'll try!" Wu Tianzhen laughed and took a few steps forward, but the next second, he felt the world spinning. Vaguely, he seemed to have become a great general, slaughtering enemies on the battlefield and building a legacy...
"This brat, he really never learns!" Seeing this, Third Uncle couldn't help but slap his forehead. "He's just causing trouble!"
Wu Yu picked up the box and threw it directly to Third Uncle, then raised his palm. A surge of sword energy enveloped his hand, and the next second, he slammed it fiercely onto the green-eyed fox.
"Boom!"
Not only was the male corpse shattered, but even the stone platform was cracked in half.
Since this thing dared to scheme against him, he wouldn't give it any chance to catch its breath.
"What the hell? What just happened?" Wu Tianzhen looked around in a daze, but when he saw Wu Yu shatter the giant stone with a single palm strike, he became even more bewildered.
Looking at Wu Tianzhen, Wu Yu seemed to remember something. He turned and began to rummage through the female corpse.
The others, seeing that the green-eyed fox had been killed by Wu Yu's strike, were no longer afraid and walked over.
"Tell me, Young Master Two, what are you doing?" Pan Zi asked, his forehead covered in black lines.
"Exactly. Even though this female corpse hasn't decayed for a thousand years, you shouldn't do this!" Fatty leaned in with a sly grin. "If you really can't hold it in, brother, I'll find you a few girls with big waves to blow off some steam after we get out of here!"
"Go to hell!" Wu Yu gave them both a sharp glare. Sure enough, he found what he was looking for in the corpse's arms. He turned to the bewildered Wu Tianzhen and smiled. "Open your mouth... say ah..."
"Ah?"
Wu Tianzhen stared blankly at Wu Yu, clueless. Behind him, Brother Zhang seemed to understand something and suddenly tapped the back of Wu Tianzhen's neck.
"Hiss, Brother Zhang, what are you..."
Before he could finish, he saw Wu Yu take a black object from the female corpse's arms and shove it directly into his mouth.
He instinctively wanted to spit it out, but Wu Yu had already pushed his chin back up. Behind him, Brother Zhang struck again, forcing him to swallow the foreign object.
This tacit cooperation left everyone present dumbfounded.
"Holy crap! Your tastes are too hardcore!" Fatty screamed. It was hard to imagine him leaping back three meters, staring in horror at Wu Yu, Wu Tianzhen, and Brother Zhang.
"You... you took a piece of... from a thousand-year-old female corpse... and fed it to your cousin?"
Although he had long known that Fatty had a filthy mind and was an even filthier person, he had never expected his imagination to reach such depths.
"Idiot!" Wu Yu didn't even know what to say. He walked to the side and strapped the instrument case onto his back, which finally made him feel normal again.
Ever since he first obtained the sword case through the sign-in system, it had never left his side. However, in modern society, running around with a sword case would get him dragged in for a cup of tea in minutes!
Because of this, he had consulted many experts at the Eleven Warehouses, and with the support of Wu Erbai, he had used the principles of the sword case to craft this instrument case. Since then, one could often see a seven or eight-year-old kid in the Eleven Warehouses dragging a giant wooden box as tall as himself everywhere.
It wasn't until he turned sixteen and grew to 1.77 meters, finally becoming taller than the case, that this "spectacle" disappeared. Even now, he carried it wherever he went, having long since grown accustomed to its presence.
If it weren't on his back, Wu Yu would actually feel uncomfortable.
"Ptooey, ptooey, ptooey... You wouldn't be trying to murder me to keep the family fortune for yourself, would you?" Wu Tianzhen looked at Wu Yu, his face pale. Fatty's words had truly disgusted him; he only knew it was some black, murky thing, and just thinking about it made him feel sick!
In an instant, Wu Tianzhen crouched on the ground and began to retch.
"Ungrateful wretch!" Wu Yu gave him a pointed look. "Brother Zhang, you explain it to them!"
Walking to the side to sit down, Wu Yu appeared to be playing with his phone, but in reality, he was communicating with the system.
"Did the curse on me erupt? Does the bloodline power of the Banshan lineage have the same effect as Qilin blood?"
"Although the system has been suppressing it, you have rarely experienced such high-intensity combat in the past twenty years, which is why it erupted completely today," the system replied. "That is the totem of the Ghost Cave script. They worship snakes and revere eyes above all else!"
"But because your bloodline is far too pure, the power of the curse you inherited is even greater."
"Do you know why the Banshan Daoists are called 'Daoists,' unlike the titles of the other three factions?"
"Why?" Wu Yu asked; he had never thought about this question before.
"Banshan Daoists, as the name implies... actually, your clan is currently the most suitable lineage for cultivation. That is why every Banshan Daoist has the highest combat power, the strongest individual fighting capability, and can advance by leaps and bounds in their training compared to others. Those with pure bloodlines can even utilize a small amount of internal energy, enough to move mountains and split seas."
"That is the difference of the Banshan Daoists, but because you were too powerful, the Queen of Jingjue placed a curse on you after discovering you, enslaving your entire lineage."
"Understood. If I were the one in power, I wouldn't be at ease having such a group under my command either," Wu Yu nodded.
"Host, you can try practicing your internal energy speed now; you might be in for a surprise!"
After saying this, the system fell silent.
Wu Yu began his experiment. After one cycle, he was incredibly shocked!
Good heavens, what was going on?
His speed was ten times faster than before!
If he were to use the "Twin Lotuses of Life" again, he would at least not be left without the strength to stand up afterward.
At this moment, he finally understood why the Queen of Jingjue had sealed the bloodline power of this clan! Simply put, they were too talented and invited jealousy!
Looking at the photo again, a giant eye appeared lifelike; the long, delicate eyeliner made it clear at a glance that it belonged to a beauty. Even if it was just an eye, the moment you met its gaze, it felt as if a vague figure appeared in your mind.
Others didn't know, but Wu Yu understood that this was likely the Queen of Jingjue.
However, the eye on his back was sealed by countless iron chains and runes, which, unsurprisingly, should be the masterpiece of the system.
It didn't look like a tattoo, but he couldn't quite describe what it was. This made Wu Yu stop envying Brother Zhang's Qilin bloodline, after all, a martial artist's lifespan was not short either! If he could achieve further breakthroughs, it was not impossible to shatter the void and ascend to a higher realm.
At the very least, through the system, he now knew that shattering the void was achievable, and that was enough.
