Chapter 2: First Encounter with Little Brother at Guazi Temple!
“What—what did you say?”
Wu Tianzhen stared at Wu Yu in shock. “Your father is… Wu Erbai? My second uncle, Wu Erbai?”
“I’m two years younger than you, so I should be calling you cousin!”
“No, no, wait a minute! I’m a bit confused… completely confused!”
Wu Tianzhen hurriedly waved his hands, almost kicking two porcelain jars to pieces. Fortunately, Wu Yu was quick and protected them first.
“Why so shocked? After all, these are family belongings. If this pair breaks, you’ll owe at least three hundred thousand.” Wu Yu looked at Wu Tianzhen sympathetically—before he grew into the Evil Emperor, this kid was a genuine little troublemaker!
“What do you mean ‘family belongings’? These are mine!” Tianzhen instinctively retorted.
“The Shanshui Residence… belongs to Third Uncle!” Wu Yu explained. “All these things on the floor were given by my family to help you keep face. So far, you owe one million four hundred sixty thousand. The Shanshui Residence is currently making zero profit. So tell me, what exactly is yours?”
Wu Tianzhen was speechless upon hearing this.
Well, it seemed the facts were indeed like that!
Thinking this way, Tianzhen felt a little wronged. In the past, as the sole heir of the Wu family’s nine branches, he could lavish as he pleased without consequence.
But now… if Wu Yu’s identity was legitimate, then even if he wasn’t the Wu family heir, he was at least the rightful owner of Second Uncle’s business!
“No, no, wait for me! I’ll call Third Uncle!” Tianzhen said, grabbing his phone.
Wu Yu rolled his eyes, placed the porcelain jars on the ground, and went straight to a clean room to settle in.
When Tianzhen called, Third Uncle Wu San was already heavily drunk, or rather, intoxicated by his own thoughts after years of pressure finally eased. Although he only drank half a catty, he managed a sound sleep.
So the call was answered by Panzi: “Young Master Third? What’s the matter? Third Master just went to bed after drinking.”
“My Third Uncle drunk?” Tianzhen was surprised. “Impossible, he hasn’t touched alcohol for years.”
If it weren’t for Panzi on the other end, he would have suspected his uncle was kidnapped.
“That’s because Third Master’s happy!” Panzi, unable to hold back, spilled everything like a machine gun.
“…” Tianzhen didn’t know how he hung up, and watched Wu Yu tidying up with a lost look, unsure what to think.
“So, finished your call?” Wu Yu smiled at Tianzhen. “I’m curious, no matter true or false, shouldn’t you have asked your own father first? I’ve never heard that your eldest uncle adopted you to Third Uncle’s line.”
“…” Tianzhen was at a loss for words.
“Alright, alright, my identity is settled, right?” Wu Yu smiled. “Don’t worry, I just graduated and plan to grind for twenty years, then return home to inherit the family fortune. I’m bored, so I came to get close to my cousin!”
Wu Zhen rolled his eyes in exasperation. “So you really are my cousin? My second uncle hid this so deeply!”
“But I admire my unseen second aunt even more! What kind of woman could tame that old fox of my Second Uncle?”
Thinking of his mother, Wu Yu smiled faintly. “If you want to meet her, in about a month, near the New Year, we’ll probably see each other back at the old residence.”
Tianzhen nodded. Now that Wu Yu’s identity was out, he believed Second Uncle wouldn’t be dining alone at the ancestral home this year.
At this point, he also understood why the family’s New Year’s Eve dinner started six hours early and why Second Uncle always left first afterward, without the old master ever stopping him.
Back then, when Third Uncle took him to watch fireworks and left half an hour early, he was made to kneel in the ancestral hall all day.
But Second Uncle Wu Erbai was an exception… now it made sense—it was probably to accompany Wu Yu and his mother.
“Damn! So Grandpa knew about you from the start?”
“Yeah, but even so, I first met Grandpa when I was five. After all, the old man wanted to disappear quietly for a while—it was too difficult.” Wu Yu said.
“That’s great!” Tianzhen stepped forward and patted Wu Yu’s shoulder. “Now Third Uncle won’t have to always focus on me, burdening me with the Wu family’s heavy responsibilities.”
“Hahaha, you’ll be disappointed!” Wu Yu smiled faintly but said no more. For now, Tianzhen should just obediently follow Third Uncle’s plan.
He wouldn’t interfere much, but seeing this timeline made him realize he was currently before the meeting of the Iron Triangle—just the beginning of the story!

“Bang!”
At that moment, a loud crash echoed as the gates of Shanshui Residence were kicked open. Twenty to thirty people stormed in, hostile and destructive, smashing everything in sight.
“Damn! My money!” Tianzhen was dumbfounded but quickly rushed out.
“You must be Wu Yu?” The leader waved his hand. “Take him away!”
“Looks like Dad has many enemies!” Wu Yu shook his head after seeing this. Like a shadow, he moved five meters in a step and grabbed two men’s hands instantly. “Looking for me?”
“I’ve been waiting all day for you. Now you show up? With this intel, you want to fight Wu Erbai?”
“Beat them! Disable and take them away!” The leader’s fury flared at the mention of Wu Erbai’s name.
“Brother, I’ll help you!” Tianzhen didn’t hesitate. Despite caring about the broken items, he grabbed two jars and charged forward.
“Stop, stop, put down those Dragon Nine Hidden jars! They’re not worth hitting them!” Wu Yu smiled, kicked two lackeys aside, and rushed in.
His arms tense, fingers sharp as swords.
Though unarmed, he easily handled the gangsters, striking like a tiger among sheep. The thugs wailed miserably.
When Tianzhen regained his senses, Wu Yu had already subdued them all.
Standing on the leader’s back, Wu Yu crouched down. “What’s wrong? Want to say something tough?”
“No, no! I’m sorry, I’m beaten! Please spare me, my back feels ruined!” The big man cried bitterly, making Tianzhen want to plead for him.
“You haven’t learned anything from Third Uncle’s kindness!” Wu Yu said to Tianzhen.
He took out his phone, showing a payment code to the man. “I won’t ask for much. Just pay three million for the items you broke, and this is settled!”
“Th-three million?” The man’s eyes rolled back, nearly fainting.
But a sharp kick from Wu Yu sent a surge of energy into his kidneys, causing him to writhe in pain. “Fine! I’ll pay! Right now!”
After transferring the money and watching them leave, Tianzhen grinned and approached. “Brother, look, Shanshui Residence has nothing left—no air conditioning, no refrigerators, no appliances…”
“Enough, all that’s on me!” Wu Yu added Tianzhen as a friend and transferred one million directly. “You take care of the purchases!”
“Generous! Let’s go eat!” Tianzhen clapped Wu Yu on the shoulder. “I tell you, we’re only two streets away from University Town, and at night… wow!”
Seeing Tianzhen’s excitement, Wu Yu almost wondered if this guy was wearing a human mask to disguise himself!
The original story never mentioned this side of Tianzhen.
But on second thought, it made sense.
That was just literary description, while he was now in the real world. A young man in his twenties like Tianzhen naturally behaved differently.
Just as they were halfway through dinner, Tianzhen suddenly stood up excitedly. “Dragon Spine! Let’s go find Third Uncle!”
“Alright!” Wu Yu nodded but was more curious about Little Brother.
To save time, they took shortcuts.
But this also meant they were spotted again by a group.
“I didn’t know it’s even more chaotic here than abroad!” Tianzhen swallowed nervously.
“No choice, having a notorious father like mine, you wouldn’t understand!” Wu Yu sighed but didn’t hesitate and charged forward.
Because he knew that once he decided to leave the estate openly, troubles would come one after another. He was mentally prepared.
But before taking two steps, a shadow descended, carrying a black bag. Though the contents were unseen, Wu Yu sensed a fierce blade inside, sharp enough to cut through anything.
“No wonder, the number one grave-robbing artifact—Little Brother’s Black Gold Ancient Blade!”
Wu Yu’s eyes lit up, instantly recognizing the opponent’s status. Such a divine weapon could even enter his sword box!
But he soon shook his head… a pity it was a blade.

These new attackers were clearly more skilled than the afternoon group, but still no match for Little Brother. He dispatched them swiftly, then glanced at Wu Yu and silently left.
“As expected of Little Brother!” Wu Yu smiled and patted Tianzhen. “Let’s go!”
“Oh yeah!” Tianzhen came back to his senses and nodded. “Let’s hurry, it’s just ahead!”
Watching Tianzhen’s high spirits, Wu Yu was unhurried—Dragon Spine was gone, and he wasn’t here for it.
He had already met Little Brother face to face; next…
They pushed open the door to find a vigorous man staring at them. Wu Yu smiled gently and stepped forward respectfully. “Third Uncle, I’m Wu Yu.”
“Hahaha… good!” Wu San was ecstatic to see Wu Yu. Nearby, Tianzhen looked a bit jealous and pulled Panzi, whining, “Panzi, I’m losing favor. From now on, I’m counting on you.”
“Haha, no way, Young Master Third!” Panzi grinned, continuing to call Tianzhen by his usual title—a clear sign of support.
Panzi was rough but observant; he knew that although Wu Yu shared the same status as Tianzhen, the future belonged to the first and third branches, unrelated to the second branch’s Wu Yu.
“You brat!” Wu San pretended to kick Tianzhen. “Come on, come inside! You’re late; Dragon Spine’s gone. But I have another treasure!”
Still tipsy, Wu San proudly showed off a brocade book and explained how he had deciphered it. Tianzhen’s eyes gleamed with admiration.
“So, Third Uncle plans to leave soon?” Wu Yu asked.
“Exactly, Panzi is ready. We set off tomorrow!” Wu San nodded.
Hearing this, Tianzhen jumped up, having pleaded all night to finally join Wu San and Wu Yu.
He proudly nodded at Wu Yu.
Wu San looked at Tianzhen, then at the nephew he met for the first time, and thought silently: Second Brother truly trained a worthy heir quietly.
Probably only Xie’s son, who inherited all four branches’ strengths, could rival him in the entire Nine Gates.
As for Wu Tianzhen… at least for now, he wasn’t qualified in the eyes of those old foxes.
Though reluctant to admit it, it was the truth.
Before dawn the next day, two cars and four people quietly left Hangzhou City, carrying a pile of tools.
Long-distance driving soon exhausted the initially enthusiastic Tianzhen.
After nearly a week’s delay, they finally reached the agreed location.
“Little Brother, sorry!” Wu Sanshu embarrassedly looked at the young man. “My big nephew’s first trip out; please take care of him if there’s any trouble.”
Little Brother said nothing, just nodded quietly. Nearby, a big guy named Panzi cheerfully approached. “Young Master Third, we’re finally starting!”
“Hmph! Told you to save money, but you wouldn’t listen. You deserve to be poor!” Wu Sanshu scolded Da Kui with a glare.
“Brother, this guy’s so quiet, he must be a silent type, right?” Tianzhen whispered to Wu Yu.
“I said, cousin, he heard you!” Wu Yu saw Little Brother’s gaze and smiled. “Thanks for your help that night. I’m Wu Yu.”
“Hehe, quiet type, hello! I’m Wu Tianzhen!” Tianzhen awkwardly scratched his head and greeted. For some unknown reason, he immediately abandoned Wu Yu and tried to get closer to Little Brother.
“Without me, they wouldn’t stand a chance against you.” Zhang Qilin looked deeply at Wu Yu, or rather at the huge zither case on his back.
After tidying up, they followed the guide to an abandoned dock and stopped. “Guests, we’re switching to water transport now. If you have anything that fears water, please pack it first!”
As he reached for their luggage, Panzi and Da Kui stopped him. “Nothing here fears water. You’d better contact the boatman!”
